Good to go. Much easier than I thought it would be. What can I expect from the 190° tstat besides slightly cooler temps?
I don't think 190 is really cold enough to cause any issues, but 180s can in computer controlled vehicles with stock tunes.
I say that because what most people don't take into account when they change their thermostat temperature is the computer's open loop vs. closed loop functions. Putting a colder thermostat in without changing the temperature in which the computer goes into closed loop can cause some issues in longevity, especially with O2 sensors. When you first start the truck, it runs in open loop which is a base table which does not account for the O2 sensors. It's basically the choke feature. The open loop table is generally pretty rich. Once the computer reaches a set coolant temperature (I do not know what it is in the Ram), the computer switches to closed loop and starts adjusting air/fuel ratios based on the O2 sensor voltages.
Like I said, with a 190 it probably won't be noticeable, but I've seen 180s that have kept the coolant temp below the closed loop operating temperature, so the vehicle runs rich all the time and never goes into closed loop, dumping fuel out the tailpipes and kicking a P0125 code from a $10 thermostat.
