Hi my name is Julie and have loved the 2nd gen Rams for a long time and I finally got one a few years ago. A 1996 SLT 5.9 with tow package. I LOVE this truck. It needs body work and paint but that's ok, I still love it.

Just recently got a 2000 SLT 5.9 4X4 (need it out here when it rains a lot). It does need a few things and has a couple of problems but it was a good deal. I like it just not as much as my 96..lol.

She's changed again, Dana 60's were installed this past week, New Black Iron Outcast wheels. The 60's were rebuilt end to end before install, wire wheeled and coated with Por-15. I am now running 4.10 and a lsd, thats a big change from 4.56 and Dl front and back. Over the winter gears and E tracks will be installed.

Love those lights. Where did you get those and what did they run? How's the light beam?

Slightly more recent pics. 2012. I can't seem to find many newer ones. I'd take one now but it's still pouring out.

Is your truck missing its Indy wheels?

Such a shame. Otherwise your truck looks great.

Good morning guys. I am the proud new owner of an 2000 Dodge Ram 1500. Admittedly, I know absolutely nothing about cars/trucks, but I wanted to get something I could learn about, work on myself, and try to make it as nice as it can be on my own. This is a project for me, and gives me an added bonus of having a pickup truck.

Here are some pics from when I went to pick it up. The guy was I believe somewhat honest when selling it to me, he notified me of a few things wrong with it, and for the price, I was okay with those things. I will be asking you guys LOTS of questions as I attempt to get this baby looking good and running better!

Thanks!

V8? Looks like a nice little daily driver/side project.

Yes, a V8.. For starters, My hood seems to have about a half inch gap.. I can't seem to get it closed.. Would that be hood mounts? I know it needs a new grill, and a hood latch (it's bent and it blows up and down as if it's going to open, but it's in the latch)

Likely the mounts yes. It could have been replaced at one point in time and never adjusted properly.

I figured out how to get the hood to close, but can't do it alone.. Going to need someone to put some weight on it, or hold it down while I tighten.. *sigh*

Also, it looks as if someone tore off my darn cold air intake, so I'm going to have to replace the entire system.. upon further looking under the chassis, I think I may need a new exhaust also, as the one currently on it is rusted out and has 2 holes in different places...

Lastly, my brake lights aren't working.. the Brakes/ABS Light is coming on, but it stops just fine... I'll tinker with it this afternoon and search the forum before I start asking questions that have already been answered.. I'm off to get it registered today, and luckily it passed emissions back in May of this year, so I won't have to take it through that again, which is surely would have failed with the holes in the exhaust, and missing Air Intake Box/Cold Air Intake.. *sigh*

here comes the money pit.. LOL

When we moved north we placed the wheels and tires in our storage facility for protection. The wheels on it as of 2006 we got off a 1997 Ram from a guy who had replaced his wheels for aftermarket. So the Indy wheels aren't missing, just hiding from the elements. We visit them frequently and make sure they stay clean.

Apparently I've missed this thread to but here's a couple pics of my 98

Fresh from the paint shop about 4 years ago

And a couple more recent ones from this summer, it's not the cleanest in these pics. (The joys of living on a dirt road)
