Well MTGTS, this is strange...
1) You definitely have the 3 Video wires going from the i315 Connector at the Brake pedal up to the back of the radio's C1 (color's match at both ends)
2) You do not appear to have the 5-6 wires coming into the C322 from the tailgate's factory i550 connector.
This is weird b/c it appears those wires are at the i550 end in your previous pictures (unless that was not the end going forward to C322), which leaves me wondering where they went? Did they just fold the wires back and tape them off in the harness just before the connector? IDK.
** Q: Can you get a better picture of the i550 showing all the wires/colors? **
Perhaps we are overlooking something. Some options:
- Use the 2500 schematic from post 14, disconnect the battery and find a way to ohm out the pins from the i550 to the i315 etc. Perhaps they have done something different that is not in the schematic.
- Verify that you have the following parts in the tailgate:
Camera Lock Jumper Harness P/N P68096415AC
Tailgate Wire Harness P/N P68189124AB
- Purchase the RAM OEM Add-on Camera Kit and install it, if you don't feel like digging through the connectors/pins/wiring using the prints to verify things.
@ MTGTS,
Well, after a few hours with MS Snipping Tool, MS Paint and cut/paste this morning on the TechAuthority site, here is your official "AS-Installed" Factory schematic using your VIN...
2014 Ram 2500 MTGTS Existing Camera Wiring - Partial for Forum.png
(I have circled where the wires are missing from the factory)
If you look at it you are missing the wires from the i550 to the Chassis C322 connector (5-6 wires). It also appears that the camera shield is not connected inside the tailgate jumper harness (which you ordered). It may actually be connected, and I wouldn't be in a rush to change this one.
You said you also added the correct tailgate lock/camera pigtail which you pulled from the old truck.
My assumption here is that your picture of the i550 Tailgate connector is the wrong side of it, or there is actually a short extension on it like
70Chall440 had on his 2500 in Post 22.
So go hunt around under there and get more pictures for/around the i550. My bet is that if you managed to get jeepguy's chassis harness out of your old truck with all the pins/gaskets intact and it's long enough, you will be able to use it, but you have to find the correct connectors (and pin it correctly).
