Dumb question maybe, but can you put a oil catch can on a 2005 hemi or only the new ones?

It seems I'm getting my the same results as far as 5W20 Redline and how quiet and silky smooth it runs . If I Towed like you do I'd probably go 30W also so you probably made a good choice unless you get the evil low oil pressure warning message lol .

If I do get any messages I'll just drain out a couple qts and cut it with the Redline 5W-20 ! That's my plan anyway ...

I don't think you will. Sounding more and more like Chrysler specifies 5w20 for fuel economy than problems with MDS

I pay a lot of attention to the evic mpgs , so I'll know in short order if my mpgs go down !
My evic # are typical for this time of year 19.5- 20.2 for all around driving.
Hand calculated is about 17.5 -18.5mpg

Keep us posted with the results. I've wanted to do 5w-30 but people on the internet say it will ruin my MDS and make my motor explode into a firey mess.

Yep , several people running it with no issues. ..
I'll have to check my owners manual but I'm pretty sure under recommended oil weights it states use 5W30 when towing or hard use but could be wrong .

Just get a fire extinguisher and stay off the net and you'll be fine

My motor has developed a tick. It's strange as it can sit for a week...start up is quiet. If I let it sit at work for a few hours and say I have to move my truck to let a service truck out (run time of less that 1 minute) when I go to start the truck to drive home I get a 3 second bleed down tick. Very strange as it doesn't happen all the time. I just changed from PUP to Amsoil SS. It's done this since the truck was new and I'm at 7500 now.

That is strange ???
I've got only almost 3000 miles but no tick since day one . Glad I went with Redline oil though for its first oil change as preventive Maintence as I've read it's cured it on those with the tick so figured it could stop it to from happening to start with.
Hoping anyway .....

It hasn't done it in 4-5 days. Hoping the switch to Amsoil would help. I'm going to give it some time. If it doesn't work it's Redline 5w-30.

Amsoil as I'm sure you know is great oil also . I hope it works for you man but at least you know if not Redline should do the trick for you .

It's probably exhaust tick if neither PUP or Amsoil helped it.

Definitely lifter bleed down. Seeing as it's so sporadic, I'm hoping a better oil can fix this.

Do you know if Redline is trinuclear moly?

That's exactly what I was thinking if it was a exhaust leak it wouldn't disappear for days at a time I wouldn't think . It would be rather consistent .

I honestly Can't see Amsoil Signature Series being the root cause of this issue!! It as well as PuP both are remarkably Robust Oils...

I am so thankful I made the switch to 5W-30!

I do hope you find the root cause of this issue and get it resolved ASAP!
