Hey all,
I've been having a fairly loud grinding sound from the front wheels, specifically when turning or braking and only at low speed. I thought it was the wheel bearings but when I jacked it up they are completely tight and spin smoothly. So after some research I'm thinking the CV axles are going out. My questions are:
1. Is there any way to check them short of pulling off the hubs and checking the splines? Everything feels tight when I wiggle it but just checking if there's any tricks before I shell out the money.
2. Recommendations on brands? I don't want to pay 3x for Mopar but don't want dirt cheap either. I found a TRQ set that was both axles and hubs for 310 but I've never heard of them. Also the truck has a 4 inch spacer lift but I don't do much off reading.
Thanks in advance
