Luckily it didn't crack the grill..birds have taken grills out before.
Years ago I had a bird hit the pipe box on top my work van. It splattered pretty good, but flew off the van later that day.

Your lucky that your grill doesn't have a big hole in it. Years ago my 89 Dakota got the grill broken out where the Dodge emblem was. It wedged the remaining part of the emblem (Dod) between the small crossbar and all of this damage was done by a damn chicken, yes I did say it was a "f****** chicken.

I'm old, just a guess it might be a '61 or so Buick Special

Good call, I definitely was thinking early 60's GM, thought I recognized it as a Buick potentially too but wasn't 100% sure. I've got a Lesabre from 5 years later:

Would love to see some more pics/details of the OP car if you have any @regal81455

If i was in that situation i would’ve preferred that it broke the grill as it gives me a reason to toss the whole thing instead of cringing at removing the bird. [emoji23]

I had a bird wedge in between the headlights of my LTD as a youngster and since they had vacuum actuated doors that covered the lights when you turned them off I didn't realize it right away. That was a nasty clean up.

Sorry guys was really busy yesterday and fell off the earth for few. Back today though! :)

I'm glad it didn't crack the grill. I wouldn't have been to pleased. Cleanup wasn't too bad. It took a small tug and I was a bit concerned the body was going to come out without the head but it eventually came out together lol - gloved hands of course.

As for the car - it's a 61 Skylark. Pretty rate version too. Buick didn't officially recognize the specials as skylarks till 62. Mine is a late 61 production car, for all intents a 62 but titled as a 61. It still has the original, first of it's kind all aluminum 215 CID v8 in it with an air cooled 2 speed. Don't have too many good pics with me at work of the interior but it's in great shape. Redid it a few years back. Here are some glamour shots. :)

Wow, great looking Buick! Thanks for sharing! I really like how you went about doing the trunk, very clean look, as is the rest of the car!

That is a really beautiful and extremely rare being as it's a 61. Those aluminum V8s were really popular for hot rods and stuff. And it's crazy that it's got an air-cooled Powerglide because the first year for those was also 1962. Strange looking transmission with those big holes by the torque converter. The only thing stranger was the Pontiac Tempest Transmissions that were located in the back with a transaxle.

When I got my 2016 my coworker came in and was like “nice truck man! But ya got a bird jammed in the grill” lol. It was two days old I think.

With my 2017 I hit a giant bird. Maybe an owl or seagull. All I know is it was white and made a heck of a noise and feathers everywhere. Looked like a scene out of dumb and dumber when he corks the owl.

The other day I smooshed a squirrel [emoji17]

I had a Bat stuck in my old jeep CJ7 grill years ago. My buddy is like, "Are you Batman?". Poor thing was plastered to the grill in the Bat Signal pose.
