I think it comes down to which dealer you have, though brand quality is a contributing factor. Some dealers are horrible and all the complaints in the world will not make them any better. The percentage of bad Mopar dealers is probably not much different than other brands. I find dishonesty and incompetence come as a package. Their repairs fail so they lie and make excuses. It must be 50 years ago that I heard the term "wall job". You bring your car in for routine maintenance and they park it against the wall until you pick it up, without having done a damn thing. Some things never change. So the first part of this story begins back in September my way to work. On clear day back in September I was driving to work ( normal flow of traffic) when my 2015 Ram 1500 5.7 with 66600 miles (roughly) failed. Long story short the first dealership I took it to wanted to charge me an absurd amount of money for warranty work. I have another Thread on that situation if you feel so inclined to read it. late September early October I take the vehicle to another dealership do you have the warranty work performed. on November 20th, 2017, I took possession of the vehicle after having engine components replaced. While picking up my vehicle I discover that the vehicle has been ready for over a week, but no one made any attempt to contact me. On December 3rd, 2017, 13 days later, with roughly 500 miles the motor fails again. The engine shut off while I was exiting the interstate I attempted to restart and I got a horrible knock. that night I have the vehicle towed back to the dealership and was told the vehicle would be looked at Friday which was unacceptable. I ask the dealership for a courtesy vehicle, but I am told that is three weeks out. I contact the service manager and explain the situation. He tells me that he will expedite it. I contact FCA and explain the situation to them as well and they again tell me they will have it expedited. my case manager at FCA explain to me that the vehicle be looked at Wednesday or Thursday this week. today December 7th, 2017, I contacted the dealership asking you my vehicle had been looked at and I was told no that my appointment wasnt until Friday. (are you kidding me) so I asked to speak with the service manager. And this Joker has the audacity to lie to me!!!! He says "oh yeah the vehicle was brought in earlier today". Well how can this be when your service advisor has told me that the my appointment wasnt until Friday? I explain to the service manager that FCA advised me that my vehicle would be looked at Wednesday or Thursday. Then once more this Joker has the audacity to tell me that FCA doesn't run his shop and I can take it else. ( again are you kidding me!!! Really)? I am so fed up with this whole thing!!! I will have more information to this situation when it becomes available.
that's ok come here in the summer lots of things to do in the city look me up if you do your dollar is high you can get things cheap here lol.Nah you are to far away in Winterpeg.... lol

I agree with you. These trucks are garbage and so are the dealers. If it weren’t for the advise of people on this forum my truck would be a mess of problems. It was at the dealer for a total of 14 days before they called me saying they can’t diagnose the problem. It turned it to be a dirty throttle body. Fixed it myself in 30 min. They’re useless. I was drawn to Chrysler after a few great jeeps. Those days are over. Chrysler produces trash now. 40,000 miles and more problems than any of my 200,000 mile jeeps ever had.
Agreed never get the first of anythingYou can surely get a lemon anytime but I do have a hard fast rule: never, ever buy the first year production of anything. But especially cars and trucks. This after 42 years in the industry.
Probably why the Hemi and transmission hasn't blown up yet. 3 years to get the bugs out.You can surely get a lemon anytime but I do have a hard fast rule: never, ever buy the first year production of anything. But especially cars and trucks. This after 42 years in the industry.
I never said a dirty throttle body was a quality issue. I said it was a dealer issue. It was causing my car to idle rough and constantly stall at lights. In 2 weeks the dealer couldn’t figure that out. To be clear, none of the problems I’ve had are anomalys. They are common problems with these trucks for years that Chrysler can’t be bothered to address. Things like a brake light that allows water into the truck, bubbling paint, air bag lights, dashboard rattles.... my truck has 40,000 miles and has seen nearly every standard issue these trucks have. These are quality issues and represent the brand. I’ve had many Chrysler made vehicles. These trucks are exceptional trash by Chrysler’s own standards. That’s my opinion. You can have yours. These are the kinds of posts that make me laugh. Because you had a bad experience with one vehicle, the entire BRAND is trash? LMAO. Now that we have all the facts...
I had more issues with my last GM product in 1 year than I have had with three Chrysler products combined over the past 4 years. Does that mean I should label the entire GM brand as trash? No, I wouldn't, because I am a realistic person. If it's time for a change, it's time for a change. But no brand out there is complete "trash". This is something that people do all the time. GM is crap, or Mopar is crap, or Ford is crap... give me a break.
Labeling a dirty TB as an issue is pretty strange. I understand getting annoyed at the dealer if they couldn't figure it out, but a dirty TB is not uncommon or caused by bad parts or something. And it will vary depending on your driving habits and conditions. I have been considering cleaning a TB as regular maintenance since my first vehicle at 17.

I’m comparing this truck to Chrysler itself, and the experience I’ve had with other cars that earned my loyalty to the brand. Maybe Chevy sucks also. That doesn’t lessen the extent to which Ram does.I would love to see your review of Chevy after 40k.
