Looking for opinions guys. I just bought an sPOD to accommodate up to 8 devices that I need to add switches. Some devices are already installed, others are planned (I labeled the panel accordingly). I did a lot of looking around on this forum, and while there are some nifty setups out there, I wanted to take advantage of running a single cable into the cab and use the sPOD system. My truck is a 2010, so the switch housing you can buy from AEV, that sits on top of your radio display, is not an option for me sadly.

Give me your thoughts on the system (it was NOT cheap) and place a vote on where you think I should install it given the choices offered. I didn't want anything on top of the dash, and my A-pillar is already crowded.

Thanks!

Here is the panel, labeled accordingly.

My vote is the first pic... headliner behind the overhead console. In my opinion there is no optimal place in the truck to mount accy switches.
After driving emergency vehicles for approx 14 years... wherever the switches are... it will become muscle memory as to where they are and what does what.

Thats nice, I know you already have labels, but could you rotate the pod 90deg (vertical) and mount it over that empty cubbyhole to the right of the center stack or does all the cables come out the bottom?

I thought about that, but it sticks out a bit, even when flushed, due to the contours.

There really isn’t a bad spot from your choices above. If your right handed I would keep it towards your right side. I’ll be honest there’s times I turn my light bar on in the daytime and night on the street like if I see some fool thinking about pulling out I’ll hit my switch real quick so they see me. It helps to have it in a handy location.

Which A-pillar mount is that? (Not what's on it, but the A-Pillar add-on itself)

Under the ignition switch. Hands are already in the general area to reach it quickly if needed.

That could end up being a bad idea. JMHO

If your going to have the lights where you can turn them on w/o having the key on then make sure the switches are located somewhere you can see if they are on.

Or for the price of pod and switches and relays/wiring you could just get this oem aftermarket kit

Nah, mine's a 2010 so the lower "RAM" space uses a single row and this one you show won't work. MOPAR does sell an aftermarket kit, but it only provides 4 switch spots. I need 8. I did a lot of research on it, and one key advantage of the sPod is running a single ethernet cable from the sPOD(SE) (the box which will sit on top of the TIPM) into the cab at the clutch delete cover plate on the firewall, cleaning up all the switch wiring.

The single cable is a nice feature,(this has that too),. 8 switchs is a hella lotta lights n stuff..lol
Switch location and cleanliness is a mini battle in these trucks.
Good luck in your lighting mods, wiring is always a chore

Attaching the bracket upside down affords me the ability to install at the left side of the kickplate, angle as needed, and it clears the adjustable steering wheel. I think this is the plan. 2 screws and a hole to clear the ethernet cable. Whadya think?
