So this is a weird one: when I start the truck in the morning, the fuel gauge works just fine. Works all the way to work in the morning, and that's the only time it works for the rest of the day.

It's done this two days in a row and I'll obviously see what it'll do tomorrow and thursday. Any idea what is up with this?

sure. funny stuff can happen in the morning lol. i have had bad ground connections pop up some mornings. nothing like seen a few sparks at a bad ground in the morning when you try to start your truck. dirty ground connections can cause some strange issues.

I guess that's true. I just wonder what it is about the mornings that make it not work. It's been fine til I've started driving it every day....go figure.

bad grounds cause strange issues. maybe moisture gets to the bad ground in the morning and makes it better but the moisture is gone in the afternoon.

Yeah, another fella said the moisture was probably completing the connection.

There's a ground on the sending unit to the frame, isn't there?

So I got my speedo needle in and working with some fiddling.

Also cleaned up the engine ground, added another to the core support and tightened the power steering. I'm thinking Wednesday I'll take it to the exhaust shop and get that damn coupler sealed up.
