Ok, finally have an update on this build.

Got all my parts in and found time last Friday to open up my first light.
Baked the light for 20 min @ 240F. As seen in the photo I put the light on some boards as to not melt the light on the rack. This hurt the process as the wood seemed to act as an insulator and the bottom edge of glue didn't heat up the same. Had to put the light back in for a few more heat cycles to get it loosened up.

Hard to believe all that stuff is going to go in 1 headlight. (maybe not all the harness' and modules)
Really excited about the Morimoto Fog lights.

After about 1 hour and 15 min it was open. All clips and tabs in good shape.

Between painting all the bathrooms (3) in the house I hope to open the other side sometime this week. Then the real fun will start.

Ok, so I’m done with the home reno’s for this season. Time to get back on the headlight build.

Was able to get the second light opened up and do a test fit.

IMG_1848.JPG IMG_1849.JPG

Should look great once everything is color matched black. The silver trim ring on the LED high beams will have to stay silver unfortunately. It doesn’t come off so I can paint it.

Everything looks great and seems like it should fit nicely. Need to get the bezel trimmed so the Profile LED light fits in the high beam area better. The projector needs to have the bulb hole opened up so I can test fit it and start shaving some room for the shroud. Seems straight forward now….

Will be studying the Morimoto install guide this weekend so I can make sure I mount everything correctly. Aiming everything correctly and hooking up all the harnesses has me a bit nervous.

I had the same. I ran the lower edge of the bezel on a 36inch 80grit table top belt sander for a few passes and it gave it good clearance and didn't make contact with the Hi-Lens.

Ended up just notching out the area where it touched the light. Took a decent amount of material off. Now to tackle the projector.
My dremel crapped out so I'm waiting to pick up a new one before i get back to work. This build has dragged on for me. Would have liked them completed by now.

I'll get some pics of what i did....maybe a quarter inch off the very bottom of the bezel in the middle...I went from corner to corner without going heavy on the corners. More of the middle that was radius'd out.

I need to get some fine sand paper(2000grit and up) and polish to get rid of some scratches I can see on the lens

Haven't updated this in a minute.....

I just cant seem to find the time to get these built. Threw in the towel today. Going to ship all the parts off to a local guy that specializes in headlight builds. He'll put everything in for me. Should have them completed by the end of Aug.

Find an hour and work on it a day at a time. Took me longer than I wanted to do, but it was well worth it.

This. My modified modifystreet lights took a while but came out great, especially considering it was my first ever build.

A little bit at a time and eventually they got done.

Ideally that would work. Finding the hour is what I'm struggling with. This project seems to get further down my To Do list every week.

Finally an update.

About 6 weeks ago I shipped all of my parts along with a new set of TYC Quad Lamps to Evolution Motorsports in Sylvan Lake.
Rob there has done hundreds of headlight builds for local guys and comes highly recommended.

Got a call from him yesterday saying everything is going into paint. The bezel, HID shroud and the Hi-Profile high beam housing will all be color matched to my truck in PXR (Brilliant Black).

Got a teaser photo from him on the LED High beam light. Rob added a piece of black vinyl to the board of the LED's to give it a smoke look. Shouldn't affect the light out put at all.
IMG_2481.JPG

Lights should be ready next week. I'll travel up to Sylvan Lake to have them installed and aimed properly.

This build went from mild to wild quickly and has been about 10 months in the making. The cost has doubled from what I original budgeted and took me a few extra months to save up for. In the end I think it will be very worth it.

Also got a new Anzo LED smoke third brake light to match all this.
Now i want to find a 2013+ set of LED tail lights I can wire up to complete the swap to upgraded exterior lights.

Have to install my projector fog lights prior to next week so I'm ready for the headlights.

More to come.

Looks awesome! I’m currently in the process of building my custom AlphaRex lights.

Too many parts to list but here’s the major parts:
Low Beam: Morimoto Mini D2S 4.0
High Beam: Profile D2S Square Lens
Upper+Lower DRL: Profile Prism RGBWA- RGB + Switchback
Profile Prism Demon Eyes in all 4 Projectors
Tons of wiring, plugs, adapters, so everything is plug and play, no hardwiring anywhere.

100% Custom, everything involved trial and error as this type of build has never been done before. Taking a long time to finish because I have 2 businesses I run during the day, so I have little time at night to work on these but the remaining parts arrive tomorrow so hopefully I’m done by the end of next week.

Good stuff. Very nice headlights you have there. You probably should have done a build thread on that...

So, got an update from the shop last night. All the parts are back from paint.
Here's a teaser pic of the Profile Hi-Lens LEDs in Brilliant Black.

IMG_2495.JPG

Excited to have these completed and put in the truck.

Well I’m documenting the build with pictures, so I will most likely put together a build thread when I’m done. Still have some stuff to do to them so I don’t want to start a thread just yet.
