2014 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman. Just did an oil change and reset the oil indicator, by turning the key to on, and pressing the gas peddle 4 times. My instrument cluster started to flicker. Never saw this before now. The issue is random, and seems to depend on the position of the Light Switch and whether the truck is running or not. With key in ON position and engine OFF, there is flickering regardless what I do. With the engine running with the Headlight Switch in Auto, flickering is random, in OFF flicker is constant, in Daytime Running, flicker is constant, and with Headlights ON, there is no flicker, for now.
I did remove and re-seat the cluster 10A fuse, and I disconnected the battery for about 10 minutes.
Four hours later. Flickering has stopped in all switch situations. maybe removing the power solved the problem maybe not.
What I did note and what others have mentioned before is that ALL the fuses are only part way in, not fully seated. This may have been the original cause of the problem. One thing for sure is that it is a great way to build up a repair business. Sooner or later a fuse will come loose and you will be paying several hundred dollars to a garage to fault find.
