This will probably get burried in the many pages but something that no one ever mention or thinks about is VVT operation.
It was stated by one of the SRT engineers that a high moly count helps with the VVT operation, and in their SRT blend it has a high moly count. Most brands that I have seen do not. I was running Amsoil XL 5-20 and noticed a much more smoother power delivery when I changed over to the Signature Series which has a higher moly count.
I just changed my oil on my 2013 Express, 7,012 miles to Mobil 1 Full Synth and M1-113 filter. What a difference in the engine, runs a lot smoother and I can hardly tell when the ECO mode kicks in.
Wondering now if changing the transmission and axles to full synth would also make any difference.

I agree mostly but rear axle is almost certainly synthetic the front could be either. This could have changed but that was the manual read from what I could tell.
$miley
what is this signature series you speak of??
They have the original, XL and SS types of most weights. I went on the "bob is the oil guy" forums and saw some oil analysis sheets that showed that the SS has a higher moly count than the XL so I switched over.
gotcha ...amsoil product. my only observation would be, if the original was so great.....how did /could they improve upon it?...no hate here.....a million drag racers can't be wrong.
So the price in Canada for the oil Dodge recommends for the 3.0 diesel is $15.00/L from the dealership (Pennzoil Euro). I found LIQUI-MOLY 5-30 (A German Full synthetic oil) that meets all the requirements. Does anyone know anything about this oil? It is still expensive, but I can get it out of the states for considerably cheaper. about $8.00/L USD.

Not anymore they sold off their stake in Chrysler a couple years ago when bailout stuff all went down.isn't chrysler owned in some way to daimler? Which is part of mercedes makeup? I would get it, as long as it shows the correct api rating you should be good to go.
