Don't mean to ramble but..

Original plan was to have a spare for my 06 but it seems to be holding together for now. There's been a lot of metal inside the engine from the bad lifters and the cylinder walls looked marked up the last time I had the engine apart. I've got low compression on #4 (rings) and can't go over 3000 rpm without it misfiring. My block has already been overbored once so might need to use the block out of the Durango along with my heads, pistons, and crank. I figure my engine has to be torn down anyway and I didn't pay much for the parts truck or the Durango so really don't have much to lose. Also if this plan works we'll have something for our 16 y/o to drive next winter. :)

not much done this weekend, tested out having colormatched headlights, not sure if I wana run something like that so for now ill keep black, but instead of paying dodge $500 per key from the dealer like they wanted, I bought two key blanks on Ebay for $15 took em to lowes who cut the keys for FREE, and then had a buddy that has the MOPAR computer come over and program my new keys to my truck, so for $15 I got $1000 worth of stuff done :happy107:

and then I removed my pioneer 6x9s from my doors, installed some Kicker 6.5"s with extra tweeters attached to the mounting plates, when installing those I put in some frequency blockers to drastically limit the amount of bass going to my door speakers, so now they only play the upper mids and all highs and have an extremely crystal clear sound, and the two 10s pick up the bass :word:

now for some real fun lol, I had plasti-dipped a nav bezel red since my truck has the tan interior and not gray, I wanted to see if I could live with red or not on the dash of my daily, and well I decided I couldn't so I got some pictures of the plastidip being removed simply because I thought it looked neat especially once the entire piece was removed

That extra tweeter you have mounted by the speaker, did you widen the speaker grille so the sound waves get out perfectly? Or was that not needed?

Nice, i only have 1 key but I'm not paying the stealer for another one.
Where'd you get those kickers? I was thinking of getting some 6.5's but they don't have those tweeters, think my boy blew my stock 6x9's but I've killed my pioneers i got at Bestbuy for 40 bucks trying to get bass out of it, now i have the 12 inch sub and adjusted my pioneer head unit it sounds good, weird though years ago my cousin had the infinity system like mine and out sounded great but mine was just noise till now, also they don't have those kicker replacement speakers for my 02.

the tweeters were in line good enough to not block the sound waves, but it was very close lol, but no modification to the doors at all and nothing is blocked!

ultimately these are not for the truck they are 6.5" speakers with the 6x9 to 6.5" adapter plate, the plate has a spot marked for a tweeter so you can flush mount some in the panel if you would like too but mine were too big for the pre made marks so I just bolted em onto it and it worked fine, I blew my OEM speakers quick, then ive gotten about 8 months out of my pioneer 6x9s and they were on their way out so I went with this route, and like I said I added some bass blockers so now my door speakers should pretty much never blow since they wont see any real bass

Cool, I thought going with something like that, that can handle some bass shouldn't blow anyway, I wouldn't have minded the little extra bass from the doors but that 12 inch is more than enough now that i had to put it in the back seat because it didn't fit the hideaway cubby under the middle front seat.

Got my MaxTrac 7" in today but every shop in town insists it's a 10+ hour job and wants $1,500 or more. I'm no expert but I feel that's a little steep...so I found a good looking self-service garage that I can rent tools and a lift from to install it myself. I feel I'd enjoy doing it myself a lot more anyway, gives my dad an excuse to come visit too.

OEM speakers just suck anyways, these were some budget low end pioneer speakers that honestly I think the tweeter was failing in them and they didn't like the higher bass songs, so that's why I went with a speaker that doesn't put out as much bass and went as far as to add bass blockers to them also so that the damaging lows don't go through them

Been a logn while since I last posted anything significant on these forums concerning my truck. Just recently installed new wheels and tires. Been a long time coming for the wheels. Stuck with the same size, 20x9 and virtually the same offset. MB Wheels, don't recall which model at the moment. Tires are the same Toyo Proxes ST2 that I have been running for several years now. This is the 3rd set on the truck, I really do like them.

Also just ordered the repair kit for the driver side A pillar handle. The SRT10 one has broken the mount points so I got the aluminum repair kit for it from Geno's Garage. Hopefully that will do the trick.

Lot of people say they are, I can't justify spending that on one now, I hated to spend the 100 I just spent on the one i got, plus there's other things I'd rather spend it on.
