In my old impala I bought a sunroof install kit off eBay for like $120, it was kinda cool. Every once in awhile after a rain some water would collect in it and drip when I moved the car. It always scared me haha

Just try a few places. I took mine off since it was hitting weird stuff on my 4th gen gate
Nothing's working. The sleeve at the bottom mount is loose, now. How the **** did this ever make it into production?

Just out of curiosity, did you install it upside down? I did the first time, couldn’t figure out why it was acting funny

Bending the upper cable clip towards the tailgate solved the cable poke, but the eyelet for the lower ball is still loose. :/

Tell me, does this look upside down or was this the correct way? 3f866cc24a2a0bbffafc2671408eceb6.jpg

I believe that’s correct. Looking at pics of mine it’s the same way. You really gotta crank down on that lower ball, it’s gotta be set to the recommended depth to set the anchor solid. It takes alittle to figure it out, but follow the instructions carefully

So keep turning the ball after the initial 9 turn thing with the tool until the ball is super hard to crank? Won't that strip the threads?

Depends if you had the tool set correctly in the first place

75% sure I did. The eyelet was tight when I removed the tool. Should I go back and add 2 more turns or something? Because the ball comes unscrewed, and the eyelet can wiggle but not much and can't be removed

If it’s still loose you would need alittle more of a turn. Idk how much, you’ll have to be the judge

And rightly so! You should be paying attention to your direction of travel, good sir, not what's above you!

Directions not clear enough. Antennae lodged in peehole with clip stuck around my shaft.:burnout:

Gonna button that up tomorrow. I solved the cable poke, though. Unfortunately, there's some rub on the shock body from the freshly bedlined tailgate. Oh well. Shouldn't destroy it faster than the shock will actually last, right?

Should I screw the tool in back to about 3/4" or is it not important as long as it's reasonably well in there?

New rear bumper showed up sometime tonight. Wasn't there when I checked after work but I didn't expect it until tomorrow. Opened the door to let the dog out and it was there on the porch. I didn't hear the UPS man nor did the dog as far as I can tell.

Won't get installed until Friday. Pics of it on the garage floor for now. Color looks good but it's hard to tell under the LED shop lights. Came with the mounting brackets installed, the plastic step part installed and then all the mounting bolts (as far as I can tell right now) and the reverse light housings that I'll install after the bumper is in place. Pretty impressed with the speed of shipping and the overall bumper. Decently painted, good enough that I don't think it will randomly chip from a rock or something. Very pleased so far for the price.

Well yesterday was very interesting to say the least, long story short, a old buddies show truck wound up wrecked and on the vehicle auction lot, i lost the auction for the whole truck, but i did make a dealw ith the winner to get the bed of the truck, anyways here is the truck in its better days...

4cb247a9b24b437ea2a7aa15331cb064.jpg

And here is how i found the poor thing...

7be6b72752b929a1b7872dfc153cd104.jpg

Anyways onto the point, here is the bed, obviously its going to get repainted but the perk of this bed is that the stake holes, roll pan and gas door are all completely shaved and the fuel filler has been relocated to the inside of the bedthe bed isnt perfect but its a really good start, the tailgate is shaved with full tailgate handle relocation kit and while the face of the gate is has some dents the tailgate is decent...

After close inspection me and my painter are going to redo the roll pan and we are going to reuse my tailgate from my black truck, the custom tailgate is going to become a wall hanger.

I hate seeing customs destroyed but my friends truck will live on through my black truck project
