None of my stuff have been pretty lately... But received some valve train pieces, mainly custom spring locators and finally today the Tophat seals. Unfortunately they don't fit one another which is starting to become very frustrating as it is my second round with the seals. Also received the HD suspension parts. Upper control arms and ball joints. Got a date to get into the shop so I'll do the work on a lift. I'm seriously getting lazy. Going to trim the front springs just a touch to level the front which is high. Of course I'm the only one that can tell.... lol

I took mine off as it was faded badly. Cleaned, primed and sprayed with 2 coats of truck undercoating. Nice black color. Did that to the step area on the front bumper as well as the fog light surround cone things. Looks very clean.

That's a cool idea, might have to try that.

Open heart surgery on the truck today.

Swapped the oil pan and Gasket for a new one.

Not too much of bad job, however, this engine has not been pampered... Very dirty engine. However, it looks good. Still see the cross etching of the hone on the cylinder walls, and end play is within specs at 0.0085 (0.0021~0.0112in from the service manual).

I was almost scared at first as the gunk almost looked like rust on the oil pump pickup tube, but it cleaned off nicely in the tub leaving a shiny tube.

Next on the job roster, front/rear brakes. New pads and rotors up front, new pads with current rotors (cut cleaned and resurfaced) at the back with a good brake fluid flush. Hope I won't have too much of a fight with the bleeders, but considering the state of the underside of this truck I'm not too confident on their cooperation! I already took the opportunity of having the truck on a lift to spray some rust repellant spray on the bleeders in the hope time and chemistry will give me a bit of leadway to work them out smoothly.

Stay tuned.

Let's just say I just bought the truck and it had been sitting without atention for quite a while, which has taken its toll on the underside...

Working on a P0172 code problem. While data logging I saw I still had a power wire installed. Removed it and plugged the EVAP vacuum hose. Test drove a little. Problem remains, will be checking injectors tomorrow. Symptoms are normal ST and a very high LT.

I'm redoing my PCV venting to incorporate a catch can on a 03. Redid the OEM PCV to block the crank case and added a 1/2" barb to the top where I'll plumb a hose and use an external PCV to the catch can. Here is a couple pictures of a partial install.

Finally fixed my oil pan leak. Put in a new windage tray and 7 fresh Qts of Mobil 1 Synthetic and although the Hemi tic is still there, no more drips on the driveway so I'm happy.

Finally, wifey gave me the go signal to buy new rims for my rig. I ordered the XD Series Addict in matte black. So many options but I decided to get the XD because this shop-- http://4wheelonline.com/TruckWheels.1180 gave me a good deal. I will post some pics once they are installed.
