Ok, I know there is alot of threads discussing this. But I searched for about 4 hours last night and could not find my answer. Also, I have pm'd multiple people that have the lifts and no response. So I'm posting a thread.

What exactly is needed to be cut to install the lift?

The bumpers, The frame, Front, back..... Please try and be detailed as possible as I need my truck as a DD and cant have it sitting for more then a fulls days dedicated install day.

Also, I got the PA 3 inch kit. With gap gaurds #6627 ????

The gaurds only came with 2 in the box? isnt there supposed to be 4? I know I'll only be using the fronts because the rears are covered well by the 4th gen stock gaurds, but still....

The last body lift I did was on a 3rd gen and nothing needed to be cut. Took about 4 hours (with drink breaks) and a second pair of hands. Started with the bed. Loosened all body mounts. Start on one side remove bolts, tilt bed insert lifts get new bolts started, move to other side and do the same on the other side. Repeat for cab. Bumpers will be different. The gap guards should be for the rear. You'll probably have to loosen the gas filler neck.

Yep, the gap guards are for the front. Even with 3'', you still wont need any for the rear, or so I have seen from several installs. Going to look sick bro! Let me know how the install is, thinking about adding the 1.5'' to mine.

I installed a 1.5" Zone BL by myself in about 4 hours one day, went back on the second day and relocated the front and rear bumpers in about two hours. Nothing needed cut, just had to drill some holes in the bumper mounts on the frame.

Only thing that needs to be cut is the rear bumper so it will fit around your hitch. It's just a little notch, I used a sawzall.

I think I may do mine tomorrow morning too. My buddy helping me said it took them 10 hours to put the same lift on his silverado, hopefully we can do it in about 8.

I'm not sure if you did this already so sorry if I am beating a dead horse but, I used to contact Performance Accessories Tech Department to get approximate installation times on their body lifts. Every part number/vehicle application has a different install time. They were usually pretty honest and accurate which was necessary because we didn't want to lose our ass on labor or overcharge our customers either. Try giving them a shout their tech support is pretty good they can also tell you exactly what will need to be done for the installation.

Just take your time, the instructions are straight forward, pretty easy just time consuming

Just did my 3" body lift on Thursday it's not difficult at all. I had to drill (2) 1/2" holes in the front bumper mounting brackets and cut 2 alignment pins off the rear ones and cut a section out of the bottom of the rear bumper for the bracket to sit once it's raised. Simply follow the instructions that came with it best you can some stuff you won't do in them but for the most part when your raising check all your lines and wires and things to make sure nothing is in a bind. I think worst part of it was trying to line up the blocks in the rear without the bed sliding over. It says for you to weld some metal blocks underneath the support in the bed behind the fender liners however I did not because honestly I don't haul anything real heavy so it's probably not going to matter for me.

Even if you don't haul anything heavy I would still do it. My buddy didn't put the crush blocks on his body lift and his bed cracked from hailing around a little dirt bike

Yes my father and I.

Two things that are not in instructions.

1: Heater hoses (2) running in parrallel on left side of engine looking into engine bay, undo the clips holding them on, after installation, adjust clips accordingly, around an inch and a half down the hose on mine, and reclip together.

2: transmission lines (2) running in parrallel on left side of engine bay looking into engine bay, right next to oil filter, aluminum lines, unclip them and raise body. Bend them slightly, SLIGHTY, back into place and reclip.

Also, we didn't touch parking brake, and didn't use the ground strap extension on the front end, or the c-brackets for the brake line bracket. Just again, bend it SLIGHTY, and retighten to factory position.
