Got me a score today, got me a like new full bedrug for less than $200!
Ive had one in my blue truck and just have it trimmed to fit around the handle on the inside of the tailgate and for the frame notches, this ine is going in the black truck and ill be doing the same trimming in it, ill us it untill i redo the full raised bed floor...
Also now that the black trucks bed is done for the time being, I started on the shaved tailgate for my red truck, now through my network of body guys, they told me a trick that me and my body guy are gona try out, and thats to use panel adhesive instead of welding the filler in, it sounded odd to me at first but they have shown me where they made it work, pretty easily, if you dont know what this stuff is, its the stuff they use to glue panels back onto cars, like replacement roof panels from hail damage, the crazy thing is thats this stuff is proven to be stronger than a weld when fully cured...
So we got the panel glued in, it has to cure for 24 hours, im gona give it till next friday since thats my next day i can be in the shop, and start the body working process.
The benefit of doing it this way (if it works like its supposed to) it keeps the metal from warping when welding in the fillers and the result is MUCH less finish work to make it smooth.
But anyways here is a few pix of how it looks now...
