So you didn't even try the Pulsar?

No, never had a chance to install it and then rethought the purchase. I’ll wait until it’s more programmable and not just standardized presets.

I definitely like the idea of it though.

Second Pulsar arrived last week to replace my first one that was causing a throttle surge... Im still having the same throttle surge as another member here stated, Mine surges at 25-45 mph minimal load on level ground and no traffic, its not constant but I can not predict when its going to happen, but it is very annoying when it does. If I change power settings the gear selector number flickers like something isnt happy.... I will be making another call to Edge soon

I'm surprised all Pulsar owners are not experiencing this issue. Small sample group but the odds of both of you randomly getting 4 different units exhibiting the exact same behavior..... that's no fluke & obviously very concerning. Is it a momentary throttle blip or are you experiencing intermittent instances of acceleration?

i believe the gear selector flicker is common and i think it says something about it in the instructions...mine does it when i change power settings

Mine "blips" at times that I can deal with, but it has what Id call an occasional "petit mal seizure", maybe I just need to keep some Versed in my pocket HAHA.

Mine surges at very light throttle while trying to maintain a given speed. It kinda seems to be at the point where MDS would be engaging or disengaging. The rpm gauge will show about a 50 rpm increase back and forth when it is doing this. Any change in throttle position and it will stop.

Thats what its done, but its not constant, the new one still does it but yesterday it had a fit, rpms jumped 100 plus, up and down, selector flickered when i changed settings. Enough to where you could feel the truck surging. change the pedel position and it went away but came back once at back at cruising speed. It went away after a minute or so. Today 80 miles round trip to work and back to the occantional surges at low speed... thinking my truck doesnt like being told what to do...

It wasn't MDS because it is disabled in all the even number settings 2...4...6...8 which is one reason I bought it. I keep it in 8, but it will do it in any of the settings that I have tried. Redsquirrel, I think they are just swapping controllers between you and me.

That's wierd. I haven't gotten the surging with mine. I usually drive around in #6 and throw it in #8 here and there for fun.

That would TOTALLY suck!!! Lol

Well I finally got mine through snail mail! Left from 30 miles from me, went to Utah and came back! Fkn cali anyway.
Ok, hooked er up and hit the hiway 100 mile round trip in some traffic both ways. Lots of playing with the buttons between pulsar and pc to find the sweet spot. Love 8 with pc sport 4 but thats a playing at the stoplight setting. In cruising along 50-70 i like 6 and sport 1. Still nice throttle response but not too radical. It seemed to feel if i set pc to city settings (started trip at city 4) it feels sluggish and not a crisp exaust tone.
All in all so far love it but its still new to me.
No surging and am gonna keep a eye out for that!

I also was experimenting with tranny setting (mds). Everything still works good in setting tranny to 8 disabling mds the old fashioned way. I hate the eco light and thats the only way to get rid of it other than more throttle..lol

i was refering to myself about the mds and the surging right when i put the magnaflux on. the reaon i could notice because of the loud exhaust note and you could actually hear the rpms surge

You can turn the ECO light off through the options in your radio too.

I forgot I had an ECO light until these threads started popping up about MDS and ECO. I turned it back on for a few days just to see what it was like again.

Mine has a small ECO symbol in green letters that pops up in the bottom left of my cluster. I don't have a fuel saver one that pops up. Strange.

EDIT: That is the option I have off as well. When I turn mine off the ECO light never turns on when MDS kicks in.

Ya, that same eco light is what i was talking about. the only way i know to get rid of from dash is more throttle or adjust trans manually to 8. I just went thru radio visual settings a bit ago and only thing i found was fuel saver. Not sure what that is but it's shut off..lol
