Ive never tried 3D products but they have a couple soaps that are supposed to be LSP (wax) safe. Over the counter Im guessing Meguiars has an answer, Griot's too depending on what stores are near you.

All 3 of my vehicles are *coated*, not waxed, so I tend to not worry about what Im using to wash them since nothing should strip off the coating.

And to be honest, I rarely fully wash our vehicles during the winter. I will hit them with the electric pressure washer to get the heavy stuff off, along with doing the inside of the wheel wells and maybe a quick undercarriage spray. But all of that is without soap, dont even set up a bucket or anything.

Id rather leave it semi-dirty than risk marring it while getting ticked off because its so cold out.

Question guys.

Frequently in the winter it is way too cold to spend time scrubbing my truck by hand and I am sure not going to take it through a drive-through. I also do not like getting my power washer out when it’s this cold obviously. So I always go to the do it yourself coin operated power washers.

On the warmer days I will take my brush to scrub the truck good but that doesn’t happen very often in the winter. Usually I end up just power washing with straight water as I don’t want to use the corrosive soaps at the car wash.

Sometimes I will spray the truck down with a spray bottle that is mixed with car soap and water. This obviously does not do much but makes me feel a bit better before power washing.

So I’m looking for a product to spray on my truck before power washing but will not remove my wax but will help neutralize the salt and possibly help with lostining the dirt.

Any thoughts?

I do an acrylic coating before winter. So it’s not really a “WAX”.

My truck was coated, probably needs to be redone, but I just dump whatever cheap "wash and wax" I come across in the soap dispenser of my pressure washer. Hit it with the LP soap tip till its gone and then pressure wash it off. It doesn't really get it all that clean with our hard water, but since its gonna get dirty immediately living out here I don't really care. Its good enough to get the big crap off and make it look half ass decent. When I actually care I'll drive to the good car wash in town with heated soap and good spot free.

Salt and Baking Soda are not acidic, they are base- alkai's. So something in the other direction would neutralize it, find about 20 gallons of ****, should do the trick. No but for real, all you can do it get a ramp and shoot soapy water all over it and rinse well, even with a dionizer on the hose even better.

I'm not joking, in CA that is illegal, lol. If I lived in the snow, I believe I would do that every day.

Too cold for that here, have to use the car wash undercarriage spray.

But not in the winter to take the salt off? Salt is water soluble, that should do a fairly good job removing it.

So soap/water in a spray bottle, soak the truck in it and then powerwash is still my best bet.

I guess My white truck is still going to be tan all winter LOL[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Is the Royal Purple 20-820 oil filter the same size as the stock oil filter? If not, which Royal Purple oil filter is? Thanks.

What tool platform is everyone running? Are the two most popular Dewalt 20 and Milwakee 18, or someone running Makita's, porter cable? I didn't put a lot of thought into it I kinda ended up with dewalt 20, I'm pretty happy with it. I will say the chainsaw I bought (for the wife) didn't work, i was a little disappointed in that. But pretty happy across the board with dewalt.

I like the Rigid 18v. They have a free lifetime service contract which includes the battery.

Mmmm lifetime service... Where have I heard that before.

So you can use 5w30 in the pennstar ram and not the hemi, lol...

We recommend you use API Certified SAE 5W-20 Engine Oil, meeting the requirements of FCA Material Standard MS-6395 such as MOPAR, Pennzoil, and Shell Helix. Refer to your engine oil filler cap for correct SAE grade. MOPAR SAE 5W-30 engine oil approved to FCA Material Standard MS-6395 may be used when SAE 5W-20 engine oil meeting MS-6395 is not available.

dang, the battery? That is sick. My close friend is a handy man trained by the post office, he wont buy a tool unless it is a Milwaukee 18.

The v6 was built with looser tolerances so it can use 5w30................
