Great opportunity.... makes me wanna drive down, I'dd probably be leaving with the new lights installed. :)

More than likely. Last time they did this they got a black Ram 2500 and the pictures of that Ram had both headlights this time unlike the first Ram they used to show off the prototypes. Not sure if the owner left with them though.

I can't wait to see the final specs on these. They initially advertised intensity at 2400 lumen back in August, which fell short of their F150 version set at 2600 lumen. Later in September they removed intensity from their RAM specs. I'd be impressed if the two LED's in each housing were rated INDIVIDUALLY and not combined like their fog lights.. Each fog light only produces 1200 lumen, so they advertise them as 2400 lumen, but what you tend to skip over is the word COMBINED....

Exactly. This reason plus the long wait time is why I didn't preorder. They have repeatedly said it would be brighter than the stock bulbs but not HID's, so besides looking cool they simply will not light up the road better than a $50 HID kit. Not to mention their fog lights have had many complaints about not being very bright at all. If they happen to end up matching HID's in light output, I'll buy.

Not necessarily, lumens and performance are not always 1 for 1. Since our projectors were not designed for HID's the beam pattern and overall performance is less than perfect. Far better than stock halogen, but not nearly as good as say, an Audi with factory HID's. If these new lights are designed properly for the LED chips they use, they could do a better job on the road with fewer lumens. Lumens is a bad number to compare anyway - it's just a measure of raw light. Lux is more valuable since it measures useable light at some arbitrary location.

If they happen to end up matching HID's in light output, I'll buy.

I agree with this. If overall performance exceeds my factory projectors with HID's, I will pony up the money

Correct!

Sadly, at 1200 lumens each, the light output is extremely weak.. The only reason I still use the morimoto vertical XB’s is because their sealed design have held up to the weather elements, so far. I initially tried traditional brighter LED’s in my factory housing and weather just eats them up within 18 months, because the backs are exposed... In short, my morimoto fogs are just for looks.. My low beam HID’s do all the work in foggy conditions, and they do a great job at it.

I think they like the modern”ness”

And while I think these headlights look pretty good myself...I do kind of see where they’re coming from about these being pretty busy as well

I’d wait to see them on a bunch of trucks and get reviews before I bought a set....and let the antsy impatient pre-order folks be my sample population

I dont like the DRL are on top and bottom. Its too much.
Also you can't Retrofit the LEDs.
That’s old school talk right there hahaha j/k.

I dig daytime running lights if these are a lot brighter then the current 2019s DRL that would be awesome

Did the exact same. Went white light, wide kit.
Same here, but got fog "driving" lens lights instead, for focused light.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news...but these new Morimoto headlights are no brighter than hids in factory projectors. And you cant turn off the ugly upper DRL.
This is an actual email from morimoto.

I’m not surprised ,leds projector just aren’t there yet to complete with a projector/hid combo. Don’t get me wrong instant brightness is nice to have that but with a good hid kit it only takes a few minutes to achieve full brightness plus most just don’t start their car immediately and slam it into drive.

Some of us dont have projector head lights tho so should be a good improvement over the quad head lights
