Have any of you guys encountered a dealer that refuses to give you your PIN for tpmss reset? I recently took my truck in for recalls and requested my pin and the service guy said his techs that have access to the pin won't allow me to have it that only they are allowed to use it.

Don’t ask the service people. Ask the folks in parts. They run a key code inquiry and give you a single piece of paper. Easy and fast.

Your gas cluster should work just fine in your diesel, including messages and gauges. Only thing you wont have is DEF gauge. I ran a gasser in mine for a while and didn't have any issues.
Poking around with Alfa I couldn't get messages like water in fuel to show.

And no way to get a DEF gauge to show either. Was hoping to have it as an option on the screen.

Otherwise though any gas+diesel messages worked fine, just seemed to be the diesel specific that just didn't show.

You know, I never noticed if the water in fuel message ever popped up when I had the gas cluster in. I feel like it did, or at least gave me a message. I wasn't worried about the DEF bc the evic will still give you a message when it's low. Plus I usually top it off after a few fill ups anyway.
Either way neither of those would have been a deal breaker for me. Just curious, what year is your truck and what year cluster are you putting in? I have noticed that some of the older clusters are lacking options and some of the indicator lights are in different places

It's a 16 with a 15 cluster out of a sport IIRC. Good to know the low def message will still show on the evic.

New to the group, new to the AlfaODB, new to diesel.

My 2018 Ram 2500 doesn't come up on the AlfaODB vehicle screen. It only goes to the 2017 model. Any suggestions or ideas?

Thanks!!

I went to the parts department today. I had my registration and CDL in hand. They questioned what/why I needed it. In the end they handed me the sheet of paper and said $15. I thought about not paying but I didn't want the hassle and going somewhere else wasn't worth my time. I reccomend to bring proof of ownership with you. I adjusted my tpms in the lot to verify it was the right code.

If it were me I would call Chrysler HQ and complain and ask to file a complaint against the dealer. You own the truck; therefore you own the PIN. If dealer is close by I’d call and ask to speak to parts manager and that you were charged. And then chose not to make a scene at the time as you were in a hurry...blah blah. If they won’t refund it: you will be filing a complaint with HQ. That’s just me and I tend to not be nice in scenarios such as this. Lol

@JB1 I actually set the SRT with the blue theme (5 or 6?) then removed the SRT setting. It allows you to keep whichever you choose as long as you don't make a selection on the stock themes. I preferred this setup since I have the Limited boot splash on the EVIC now with the Ram head splash on my 8.4 and SRT blue theme color . All personal preference of course.

For the SRT screen and themes select “yes” at this selection shown

I've spent the last few days reading through this entire thread and I know this thread is targeted for 2013+ Rams but..

I have purchased the OBDLink MX BT and the AlphaOBD app and have used it to successfully enable the LED parking lights, in my 2016 projector headlights, as the DRLs on my 2012 Laramie (I have to wait until morning to do a final confirmation out of the garage, but it appears the parking lights are functioning as expected). And I'm curious if this OBD setup can do other things for me and 2012 Ram..

Like is it possible to use AlphaOBD to change the radio display colors on the RHR factory radio head unit in a 2012 Laramie?

And same question for the global windows up/down feature?

Even though this setup has certainly paid for itself, IMO, by ending my six year battle for DRLs, I'd love to know and see what all this setup can do for me and my 2012 now that I've read what all it can do for the 2013+ MYs. (I'm honestly a bit jealous of the newer MYs, but not enough to trade in my beloved Falcon.)

Thank you much for any wisdom that you can bestow upon the lowly 2012 lady. LOL

I am unaware of anyone doing so. The only changes we currently are able to make to the radio themes are by way of the "Vehicle is an SRT" setting in the car configuration change menu. Being that you have a 2012 RHR head unit, I don't think it is possible but maybe someone else has more knowledge on the subject.

The global down feature if I am not mistaken is already enabled for 2012 trucks. Have you tried hitting the unlock button twice then on the third press and hold? If that does not work, in car configuration change under "doors", select and enable "Global Down".

Tried hitting unlock, holding on the third press... nothing.

And I can't find Global Down in the app. I tried looking under..
Car model: Ram 1500 (DS/DX)
Function: Driver Door
Control Unit: Front Left Door Module (DDM) MY2010-12 Non-PowerNet

Car model: Ram 1500 (DS/DX)
Function: Passenger Door
Control Unit: Front Right Door Module (DDM) MY2010-12 Non-PowerNet

.. no Global Down option.

And, since I had to use car model Ram 2500 (DJ/DR) to enable my DRLs, I tried the above parameters using the Ram 2500 as well.. still no luck.

Would you happen to know the exact path to what you were referring to?

Global down is located in the body computer/car configuration change/doors-global down.

Global down is located in the body computer/car configuration change/doors-global down.

Well, I just cannot find "Doors" listed for my truck. Here's what I put in:
Ram 1500 (DS/DX)
Body Computer
Central Gateway Module MY2006-12 Non-Powernet

Then..
Car configuration change
Under "Select option" there's a long list that includes:
Vehicle Config 1-6: multiple options
Configurable Inputs: multiple options
Configurable Outputs: multiple options
Reconfigurable Parameters: multiple options
Cabin Network: multiple options
P/T Chassis Network: multiple options
GM HEV Network: multiple options

Nothing labeled Doors.
Ah well, I don't really need the feature anyway. I've lived without it for seven years lol
Thanks for taking the time to try to help me out though! It's very much appreciated. :)

Hmm... try to sit in your vehicle and put the key in the ignition then turn it to the on position then off three times. Then try the fob

You most likely will still have to use a canbus compatible led. You can try and add a resistor and it might stop the hyper flash.
