UConnect Software Update Received--What's in it?

So, I had an appointment with my dealer’s service department to see if this was real. A new software update actually had been released on 10/2/19. TSB0801619 Rev E. It put me up to IR22.6. And unbelievably, it fixed the crappy sound quality and a few other issues with my UAQ (w/nav) in my 2018 Ecodiesel. Only took 13 months. Smh. But it’s finally over for me. For those still suffering, you should check with their dealer.

I found a what may be a later version of the TSB for the 2018 radios. The TSB is 08-016-19 REV. E dated October 4, 2019. It shows a new software version, 28.3, for WD & WK vehicles. Those are Durnago's and Grand Cherokee's respectively. I have the file UCONNECT_8.4_UCQ_MR28.3-CAN-WK,WD-MY18.zip.

Yes, based on that rev E TSB , the 2018 ram UAQ is finally getting updated to application version 22.6 like the UAS did with rev D almost 5 months ago.

We need someone to get that file on a USB stick from the dealer so we can host it here for others that want to load it themselves.

I checked the Uconnect site and entered my UAQ donor vin and it says "up to date". I'm interested in having someone obtaining the update on a USB from a dealer.

I’ll see if I can get it. My dealer is one of the “strict” dealers. Not sure if they’ll release it to me. But I’ll give it a try.

You'd need to give them a blank 16gb USB stick, your VIN, and print out the first page of the rev E TSB saying you would like the v22.6 UAQ file for your truck.

I haven’t had that happen again since the update. But I’m not totally convinced quite yet.

I've got the non-nav Uconnect and I've noticed it seems to remember the volume setting when using Android Auto, but the stock Uconnect voice still booms out like it did before. But I'm not absolutely certain.

Strike one. The dealer was willing to do it but the tech that normally does the downloading was out. They said they tried but couldn't guarantee it was right. when I got back to office the usb didn't have anywhere close to the correct files on it.

I'll try again on my way home.

I'm trying to make an appointment for my truck but my local dealer can't wrap their head around the fact this is a radio only update and my truck being a 2015 is entirely irrelevant. They're trying to tell me they can't give me the TSB because my truck is not a 2018 so it won't work.

If they use a USB key for it, tell them to load the key up with the correct files and you'll do it yourself in the parking lot lol

Maybe even invite them to watch so they can learn something

That's what I'm gonna try next, the service advisor I got was kind of a **** and had a tone of he knew better... But supposedly they're gonna have service manager call me back...

Well service manager never called me back, so I called them, got the **** again. Asked him again, and he said they agreed they wouldn't do it because 2018 radio in 2015 truck. So I said alright then I'll pay you for the file to put on my own usb drive and upload it myself and they could watch me do it, he said no that's not how it works. And at that point I said I read the whole TSB and that's exactly how it works, and as a customer who bought the truck there I'm asking for some help with a problem.

I was getting extremely frustrated especially when he tried to tell me the problems I'm (we) are having are because I put a 2018 radio in my 2015 so I hung up. But anyway, hopefully, somebody will get the file uploaded here sooner than later.
