I put rigid lights on the bar. 2 spot in the middle and 2 floods on the end and they surpass the headlights abilities and can blind someone during the daytime from 50 yards off.

I decide to go with rigid because of the new style with the side shooters and the longevity I had with my last lights. They pull a little more than four amps apiece and I have them on two separate switches.

Lightin’ up the night!
Yeah lights are fun especially in your neck of the woods where the winter days are very dark (short) though I would opt for blue lenses if I live where you do. I think I’m going to get red and yellow lenses for mine.

On-Board air:

This is the third truck I have had on board air and learn a few things. The other trucks I mounted underneath the truck with the tanks and was hassle to remove (sold them with the trucks) and loud when running. Louder than the engine.
I put this compressor under my bed cover and bolted it to the bottom of my toolbox with both of my 3 gallon Air tanks.

I splurged on this setup as the ARB duel compressors are pricey. But they move the most CFM for their size. The wring kit that came with them was very short and I didn’t come with any tubing or connectors. And the brass compression fittings are needed as I piped in all 1/2 inch line for maximum volume to my 3 gallon tanks and a Tee that goes under my truck to my horns. I used 10 awg wire to bring in power from the battery and run it through a relay.

It takes 2 seconds per 1 pound to air up my tire. So in 20 seconds I can go from 20psi to 30psi.
I have my compressor wired in to my switch bank so I can turn it off if the trucks not being used for days at a time.

When the compressor is running, I can barely hear it when my truck is off. I cannot hear it at all on my truck is idling. (Tailgate closed and bed cover closed)

I have a pressure gauge on the tanks and the compressor will take them all the way up to 75 then will turn off (like most do) till I deplete the tanks.

The big plan for the air compressor was for airbags (Recovery bags) as a lift system like the tow rigs do. Since I have sliders, I have plenty of places to slide a bag to lift the truck. Also I plan on bags for towing, I always have air now, so it it’s even more convenient.

Mud flaps/ Splash Guards:

Not the most exciting thing to write about but here it is.

In hunting season I tend to find mud frequently and it would not be such a big deal if it did not cake up against my sliders where I step to get into the truck. So anticipation for wider tires coming soon and my previous issue with mud, I got a set.

The 2 part numbers for the front and rear sets:

Genuine Ram Splash Guards Front With Fender Flares
Item# 82215928AB

Genuine Ram Splash Guards Front With Fender Flares
Item# 82215929AB

I hope to not rip them off at Moab and it seems that is only possible if I don’t backup over a log or rock that is 12” plus, I will be okay.

The fit is perfect but the install required the rear wheels to be removed for access with a drill. All in all it took about an hour to install and $127 with shipping to get them.

If you don’t want them to rip off, just remove them before the trip (or once you get there). Better than crossing your fingers for a week hoping they stay put.

Electronic exhaust cut off/out

This was a fun mod that @ZLAYER introduced to the forum a few months back. His write up is worth the read.

The ability to push a button and open the exhaust right after the catalytic converter is more for fun, then Performance. On the track with a tune, I’m sure the 1/2 sec you gain is every bit worth it for the 1/4 mile, but for me it’s for messing around.
The truck sounds like a hotrod when the bypass is open and you can give Harley Davison a run for his money on decibels, cause it gets loud.
Install:
Now the install is pretty straight forward. I removed one bar from the skid to gain access. I slid the tee into place where I wanted it and marked it to be cut.
After I made my cuts I assembled the valve and down pipe on to the tee and pop it into place. I chose to weld mine into place but clamps is definitely an option.
The wiring supplied was long enough to go over the transmission and around to the drivers side where I went to the battery and back into the cab. I chose the empty space by the parking brake, to cut the slot for the 3-way spring loaded switch that was provided.
I takes 4 seconds to fully open or close it.
Honestly I wish I would have installed this before I did the resonator delete because it does not have to be fully open or fully closed you can operate it for as little as one second and crack it just enough to hear the engine growl. It is exactly what I was getting with the resonator delete. (I should have written this write up first) wide open sounds like you can go toe to toe with the Hellcat Demon and closed off puts you back in stealth mode.

Ordered some steel Diamond plate to finish out my sliders. This mod was fun. I should have a good write up, when it is complete. But I will share a photo of the progress.

Those things must tip the scales at a few hundred pounds lol.
They do actually. 1/4 inch plate on 1/4 flat bar. Plus the 1/4 bracing, puts them each weighing in at 165lbs each. So yes my available payload took a hit. But I have 8 feet of usable hi-lift area now to put the jack on both sides of the truck.

Careful, my hi lift will raise my truck, but not lower it. I may be too heavy. You might want to test it before you need it. I still carry mine with me but won’t use it unless I absolutely have to. It’s mainly there if I need to manually winch, or to use on someone else’s stuck car.
