Sorry to hear that Burla. How far from the fires are you? Be safe and don't delay evacuating if they're getting close.
I am just North of Portland, the air quality is horrible, worst I have seen since mid 90's (besides the Gorge fire) I hear it's supposed to start raining tomorrow and for next few days. Can't wait . Stay safe everyone.I'm just south of Portland, OR and it's TERRIBLE. Looks like it might start getting better here soon though. One of my ex-in-laws lost his house. Another they're not sure yet as they are still evacuated.
Pretty much the entire city of Detroit, OR was wiped out. It is/was a vacation town with an awesome lake and camping. Many other towns were totally leveled as well. Parts of the city directly across the river from me were evacuated. We were on standby but it never got too close and is/was very unlikely to jump the river.
The air quality is the worst thing I've ever seen/felt.
I took off my shirt the other night and it smelled strongly like smokey scotch.
Yes 3 years is about normal for a total rebuild so sorry to your friendsYeah I'm in the middle of the new fire zones in Sonoma county. Every year we are within twenty miles, and have had friends lose their homes. Our best friends finally got their home rebuilt, took 3 years. Our friends drove through the fire in 2016, they didn't even have time to open the garage where their brand new Mercedes was. All the saved was their third vehicle parked in driveway and themselves. They lost everything else. So far so good, the fire fighters are amazing, they put out every fire, hard to believe considering what happened in years past.

I say throw what you can in the back of the Ram and haul ass out of town!it's tough to say this but, your Rams are replaceable.
I think we're getting there.... I walked out of a house I was working at up in NW Portland today about 4PM and got a good shot of sun. First I've seen it in at least a week.
Just like the butcher shop owner when the fire hit, he grabbed his meat & beat it.......I say throw what you can in the back of the Ram and haul ass out of town!
Sorry to hear this, hope you are able to get it looking shiny again soon.Yup, my wife's car is fine because I had a good fresh coat of ceramic on it with griots 3 in 1, but I didn't have a coat on the truck. I thought 4 days would be ok, I didn't want to have to wash it every day so I waited til the ash stopped falling, and yup got paint damage from the ash. Will need machine polishing this summer. You have to wash this **** off your car, and best of all make sure you have a coat of wax. But, even with wax don't leave it on for too long.
Messed up the plastic pieces as well. It was like someone took a can of texture and sprayed in everywhere. I wonder what else is damaged. No need for fertilizing this year, ha.
