I have a '17 Ram 1500 with an electronic key fob. It still has to go in to the dash, but isn't a "key" cut from metal. I also have a '19 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the full no key system. I can tell you that the fob for the Ram is WAY bigger than the fob for the Jeep. I just gently push the button and after a second, it starts. I have a '16 Jag F-Type that has pushbutton as well, never had an issue. We also had '15 and '17 Jeep GC with pushbutton. Never ever an issue. My folks have MBs and a Toyota, and a Lexus, no issues there either. Just one guy's experience, but sounds odd that you'd have issues on 2 vehicles. I also have never had an issue with the fob in my pocket. My jeans pockets hold my phone comfortably, and that is way bigger than any fob I've seen. Hope you have better luck in the future.
