Re-read the articles closer,there's 2 versions of the engine,only the high output version requires premium.I highly doubt the one destined for the 1500's will be the one requiring premium.The version requiring premium is more then likely the one the cars and high output Jeeps would get.
Perfect time for a catch can. The eco boost guys are doing that and it’s recommended to them on high power builds to help reduce buildup on the valves due to the DI setup. Honestly I’m not super worried about it. Catch can abs good quality oil will reduce blow by to the point where it should be negligible. Same as our trucks. My intake and TB are clean. 40,000 miles and no oil or deposit buildup.Direct injection is similar, the injector is in the combustion chamber and only injects fuel at the last second (as determined to not have spark knock, limit emissions, max efficiency, etc).
That has been around for years, biggest issue to date has been carbon buildup on the intake valves.

Not exactly, look at VernDiesel has took two tuned EcoDiesel motors to +400K miles most of which are towing, so it's not a matter of too much power from the displacement. He's not the only one, there is two more that have topped over 400K and on another forum there is considerably long list(w/proof) of EcoDiesels well over 100K and 200K mile marks.EcoDiesels blew out crank bearings. Just what you'd expect from too much power from too little displacement, and precisely our point.
I said exactly the same thing to my family a few weeks ago at dinner.......Wait for the next evacuation order due to a natural disaster and people are stuck in traffic. When the EV’s run out of juice and it takes a half hour to recharge. At least with a gas/diesel you can throw a few extra fuel jugs in the back of the truck or car. Cannot do that with a EV.

And all the while, China and India will pump out twice the emissions than the rest of the world combined, with no one blinking an eye.I'm keeping my truck till I can't give it corn squeezing's anymore, I had the nightmare EB with ford with all of the cam phasers and turbo problems, DI surely gets the oil dirty in a hurry, if they would have port injection that would help with the intake valve problem, EV our power grid in most states won't handle the load, no more camping or family vacations no more tailpipes in 2035 very premature.
I remember our neighbors bought a renault back in the early '80s. What a piece of crap that was......They're still trying to force European vehicles onto the US. Still failing - back to the Fiat 1st exit in 1983, with US car people laughing at them.
