It's definitely a "once you see it, you can't unsee it" type thing.
Wait until you try your glasses, after you get it dialed in (as it may take a few prescriptions). It is like seeing Standard Definition TV then seeing High Definition, it is hard to go back knowing what you are missing.
Don't give up on the first lenses you get, it may give you eye/head pain, just work with them to get it dialed in. My first pair, they jumped me from nothing to fully correcting and I couldn't see my way down stairs and had a massive headache. They progressively worked me to my actual prescription over several years.
Your mind has been working to correct your bad eyesight your entire life, you actually will be fighting your brain for a bit. After you get used to it, you will get less fatigue, as your mind has to do less "work". The worse your correction the more your mind works (also, the less correction the less your mind has to correct).
