This would require the purchase of a few other pieces of hardware if I've read correctly, right? A temp sensor, and potentially a different bezel (or the fan control within)

Yep

UPDATE: Using my BlueDriver OBD reader I did a full system scan.

I saw two old codes still present from the bad cable install:

U0010 - CAN Interior Bus
U0164 - Lost Communication With HVAC Control Module

I cleared both errors. Tuned the key to off. Open and closed the driver door. Waited for the truck to shut down, counted to 30, rubbed my belly, patted my head 4x, said the alphabet backwards skipping even letters.

Power back on, and I got my temp control back. I've left it 30 minutes, so far its sticking. I won't claim victory until I see it hold overnight.

After 3 hours, went back to the truck and started it. Lost my fine temp control again.

AGAIN - I hooked up my OBD reader, and AGAIN, the same two codes came up. I cleared them, as I did before, turned the truck off, waited.

Back on, and temp control is working again... I hope I'm not living Groundhog Day...

I have a new curve ball...

I can get the slider to work for a few hours, until I let the truck sleep.

After a period of a couple of hours it reverts back.

I've now determined all I have to do is plug my OBD reader into the port, I don't read, clear or even connect to it (BlueDriver). Next key cycle I get my slider control back.

Ideas?

***UPDATE!!!!***

I just got off the phone with Nick at Infotainment! I explained the issues that I was having, and described in detail how the "forum guys" say that the fix is to add ATC, and sensors...

He asked to call me back, after he talked to the lead tech (who was on vacation last time I called). Well, he did - I'm thrilled! Infotainment calls this the "Visual Bug Fix". They're going to SEND me the humidity and temp sensor - also, the Infotainment harness has the extra molex connector for cabin temp. They will also send two "genies" to program the truck. I'm over the moon! They even have a video on how to install it! :)

He advised, "Once you informed us about the ATC fix, we knew exactly what the problem was." I couldn't had provided that detail if it wasn't for @Mpgrimm2.

Thanks guys!

Would be nice if Infotaiment had a clue and didn't have to rely on the members of this forum to support their paying customers. They should be sending Mike a check for all the times he has helped their customers. At least they are sending you the stuff to hopefully fix your issue.

I agree. I see so many people buy from them instead of M2mods who is actually a member of the forum and a contributor and actually helped develop and figure this stuff out with the rest of us and then ask the forum or Mike at M2mods why it doesn’t work! We can usually get it figured out butI have no idea how they stay in business sometimes. Most of what they sell is copied from us. Selling a used radio they pulled from a wrecked truck and updated the firmware on which Anyone can do and selling it to uninformed buyers as refurbished and programmed to their specific truck is dishonest in my opinion. If you install a UAQ in a non factory Nav truck you also need to enable the Travelink in the BCM in order for the Real Time Traffic and Travelink to work and last time I checked they didn't mention that either in their info even though it's common knowledge.

Rick but they do include their overpriced "Genies". Those are a huge ripoff at $129 - $250 each to enable 1 feature. For the price of one of those you can buy an older Android phone, Alphaobd, MX+ dongle and a gateway bypass cable if you need it. Already have an Android and earlier truck you can skip the phone and bypass cable. With that setup you can program multiple features.

Yip, I've used the Alfa for a while now. We all had to use the Genies in the beginning and there really wasn't any other option becides the AE tool which was known for causing serious corruption issues in the BCM so they could charge ridiculous prices for them back then.

Yeah,
It kinda sucks helping someone feed info back to the competition.

M² Mods.
I know you're very nice about it but eventually......if they bought it somewhere else they don't need to be having you figure out what's wrong with it. It's obvious most people knew they could buy it from you in the first place. Infotainment did the same thing when WE figured out the ATC mod and they copied us. People bought the harness and genie from them that Didn't work and then turned to us to explain what was wrong with it. I honestly don't know of any harnesses they make that weren't copied from the forum and I kinda get tired of answering all the questions from disappointed Infotainment customers as well.

Sorry man - I didn't know about you or your products before I bought from them. Like most, I went searching for answers after their solution failed.

When they called, I had pulled the whole system out of the truck, and was ready to send it back. (Forego a 15% restocking fee)

After seeing the quality of a mp2 mods harness first hand its hard to imagine going elsewhere.better than oem
.infotainment is a fountain of misinformation. And now that the uaq/uas wrecking yard supply is used up I think they are getting most units from mopar. Which inturn has put them on backorder in the mopar supply chain.

Let us know what parts they actual send you. Likely the add on cabin Temp harness and sensor plus the genies.

Will do - however - I've already replied back asking if the genies were going to work without a Security Module Bypass - I've heard nothing back yet.

Assuming the humidity sensor isn't required?

Sure thing, this will be lengthy....

2015 CC Express, 5.7, 6 speed. Originally RA1 w/ 7 speed HVAC blower.

Upgraded to an Infotainment UAQ kit. Early kit (Dec '17) with new radio 68331631AH and HVAC module 68268186AA. Realized the temp control issue in spring of '18 (on screen slider is biased to hot, full cold with the slider was still mostly hot)

Based on work by other forum members, I swapped out the supplied HVAC control module for PN 68366552AA. This did not correct the temperature problem. This was purchased used on eBay.

I then purchased a new 68366552AA, as I wanted to be sure there wasn't an issue with the module, it didn't help.

Tried UAS radios PN 68274757AI and 68331635AH and saw the same response. These were both supplied by Infotainment.

From there I decided to try and see if ATC would fix the issue. To avoid another connector interface, Mpgrimm2 built a complete harness with ATC provisions; this replaced the Infotainment harness. Once installed, along with the necessary temperature and humidity sensors, I confirmed single zone MTC control was the same as before. Once reconfiguring for single zone ATC (using Alpha, changing to dual zone ATC first), the on screen temperature slider properly controlled the temperature blend door actuator. First time since using the rotary knob on the original bezel!

It's still a head scratcher. Throughout the process I've ruled out the radio, harness, and HVAC control module. All HVAC actuators would calibrated properly using Alpha, and no codes were being set to either the BCM or the HVAC (climate) control module.

Curious on the Alfa calibration, do you need a special cable or will OBD MX+ work? I notice in Alfa OBD it said something about MS – CAN blue

No special cables, I just used OBD MX+. You can put the actuators through a calibration process. This is basically a learn span, where the actuator is commanded to full close and full open for the control module to learn the end stops, as well as a count between end stops. It was interesting to me that this would always pass regardless of hvac control module or radio.

Alright so I’ve been looking through the thread and read at least 50% of it. I think I’ve figured out what all I need to do the swap; I’ve ordered the hub, conversion harness, harness to get the soft keys working for heated/cooled seated and heated steering wheel from infotainment but I still need to find the radio.
I’ve got a 2014 2500 that came with the RA4 and 7 speed ATC...would I need anything else or am I just missing the radio?

So after reading all the posts here, I have a 2014 1500 Laramie with Dual ATC and heated/cooled seats and heated wheel. I purchase a brand new UAQ still in box.

When I install it should work the ATC without changing the HVAC module?
