Just curious since you both have a 2014 truck,
- what year of truck did the Evic come from?
- did you test it/have it work before the mileage corrections?

We saw something similar with *some* text info from the 2018 UAx Radios when installed in 13-14, maybe 15 trucks (but not later) that we attributed to the earlier EVICs not being able to fully decide what to do. That being said the turn by turn still worked for most streets.

** Your info may also be worth posting in the Evic cluster upgrade thread to see if anyone else has run into this.

M² Mods.

So, here’s a new development: I switched the splash screen to “limited” in both special packages options and “limited” displayed. Switched it to “ big horn” in both and “bighorn” came back on. The cluster is from a 2016 big horn, I checked. That’s what displayed before the odo correction. Checked ram 1500, and it displayed also.

It seems that the graphics files are all still there, the cluster just needs to know to display them again. Might be the same for the nav graphics.

I set it to ram 1500 for now.

Now you got me intrigued, I have a 2010 which isn't that far off from a 2012. I do have an ODBLink MX, so I d'loaded the trail version to see what it gave me. Couple of questions if you don't mind. Does you model year show up correctly, it looks like I still only show 2013+. Did you have to do anything different to connect to the body module? I read you were thinking of bringing the 125k CAN to the ODB port, did you need to do that?

Thanks in advance

Figured this out, and yes, it also works on a 2010, my heated\ventilated and heated wheel switch LED's now work!

2012 Ram 1500 switch to power, heated / cooled seats- done!

I need some help with my AlfaOBD setup. I have AlfaOBD software installed and licensed on my Windows 10 laptop. I have an OBDLink MX WLAN interface. I have the network connection to the OBDLink from my laptop set up as 192.168.0.20 and the channel is 1. I tried the Regular Mode on AlfaOBD and I get errors and no communication. I set the Brand as Dodge/RAM, the Model as RAM 3500(D2/DD/DR), When that failed I then tried the Advanced Mode and set the IP address as above and the IP port as 1.The device selected is Body Computer Chrysler. Modification is set to rRAM 1500/2500/3500/4500. I have also tried all the generic modules. The error I keep getting is “Could not access WLAN :No connections could be made because the target machine actively refused it” 192.168.0.20:1.

I should also mention I have the OBDLink software and it has no trouble communicating with the truck.

I think the problem is the port you've selected. TPC/IP Port 1 is reserved for the TCP Port Service Multiplexer. The default port I see for the OBDLInk on their website is 35000, I would try that first.

Does anyone have step by step instructions for getting the DRL to work? I found one option and enabled it under the consumer/customer options, but that didn't seem to do anything for me. I have the bypass, the MX, and AlfaOBD.

For the changes I have made I wrote a set of instructions based on using a PC and what has been posted in various places on this thread that I have used & verified.

Hopefully, it will help you and others.

Thank you for that sir. That's also a great starter guide to ease into using the tool.

Just an FYI... for any of those out there that are still looking for a way to enable performance pages, DO NOT purchase SRTactivator on the Google Play Store. Yes, there was a review with a guy who had a 16' Ram and yes he did say it gave him the same errors, but I had to try....right? It will give you "service electronic brake system". The stability control button next to the tow haul does not work and the warning displays on the EVIC and with the little car and squiggled lines. I'll figure it out but I'm a little cross-eyed from doing all this all day.

I won't go into everything else I spent my day on but let me just say, with as many settings as I changed (vehicle line, brand, packages, factory resets to 8.4, battery pulls and so on) I think I finally convinced myself the performance packages are just not going to happen.

With all that said, if I wasn't impressed with the Alfa program before...I sure as hell am now! I should have written down everything I had wrong but I was too caught up in what I was doing to even think about it. Now I just have to find/fix the service electronic brake system, which I'm pretty sure I have seen before.

To be honest, with as far gone as I had it at one point I didn’t think it was going to be recoverable. My 8.4 didn’t look like an 8.4 anymore. Lol

Now that I have had success getting communication working I have another issue. When I try to make changes to the configuration, more often than not I get the following error “Failed: Service not supported in Active Diagnostic Session.” Does anyone know what is causing this error? I was able to make changes two times but they didn’t seem to work. I changed the HVAC to dual zone ATC from single zone MTC. I waited an hour and checked it. The configuration showed it took but it dedn’t show up on the screen. The second time a configuration change seemed to work was when I changed the HVAC back to Single Zone MTC.

I believe that without dual zone climate control installed, you aren't going to see any changes.

We do it to enable the Atomatic Temperature Control. It needs to be set to Dual Zone ATC and then set to Single Zone ATC In order for the heater control module to accept the code. You also need to add the interior temp sensor plus humidity sensor and wiring in order for it to work properly

I got my auto high beam mirror for the Durango yesterday. Went in with the Alfa and made the same changes I did for the Ram with no errors. Tried it out tonight and it works great.

If you’re getting the “Failed: Service not supported in Active Diagnostic Session”. Disconnect and back all the way out of Alfa. Force close the program and restart.

Also, remember that some of these settings can take some time to take affect and may require a longer sleep cycle.

I've been pretty happy with Auto High Beams as well, I enabled them last week. It acts like one would expect it to act, really. I know several had complained that it might be too sensitive, but so far so good.

So a Durango mirror will fit our rams?

Any idea if any other model will work too? Wasn't sure if any others have compatible mountings
