Question. Is it possible with Alfaobd to turn on engine brake (auto setting) all the time? I searched all the possible options and could not find anything that would let me do this
So, I plugged it in. Jeez, there’s a ton of things in there. I looked around a little, and set the nav turn by turn to “yes”. It didn’t seem to make a difference yet. I don’t see the option on the Radio yet either.idk, I havent plugged in the OBDlink MX BT yet, and haven't purchased the alfa obd license yet. i'll probably do that later today, or tomorrow morning when I have more time to use it for the first time. maybe I'll have the dealer add the RA4 code first and then reflash. who knows.
I did the restore, didn’t fix it either. The graphics are probably still there in the cluster somewhere, just maybe the file name got messed up or something. But, I have no way of reading that info. Maybe someone knows how to hook a usb cable up to it or something to read the files on a computer. Just curious if that’s even possible. In the actual cluster settings.

It may take a few sleep cycles for the code to show up. It will be in your navigation settings. When it shows up turn it off on the screen and navigate and then turn it back on and see what it does....probably nothing but it can't hurt to try.So, I plugged it in. We’re supposed to go out to dinner in an hour or so, I’ll check then and see what it says and report back.

That’s what I’m thinking, it probably won’t do anything. So much to look at in there. I have to find the link to the evic splash screens settings. I know there’s 2 of them. I also have to dump all the data to google drive and look it all over.It may take a few sleep cycles for the code to show up. It will be in your navigation settings. Be careful with the AE tool. I have one and it has changed codes in my truck on it's own that I couldn't put back. Had to take my truck to the dealer to have it reflashed. The problem is you don't know what it changed because the AE tool does it on it's own and doesn't show all if the codes for some reason. An example is say you turn on your alarm like I did which worked but the tool somehow disabled the CV2 overhead console code so my homelink stopped working. I couldn't put it back because the AE tool doesn't even show that code. Several people have cooked there trucks with the AE and had to take a trip to the dealer to get a reflash. Word of advise be careful and don't go poking around to much in areas that haven't been tested.

Does anyone have step by step instructions for getting the DRL to work? I found one option and enabled it under the consumer/customer options, but that didn't seem to do anything for me. I have the bypass, the MX, and AlfaOBD.
If you could figure out what codes the AE tool changed you could most likely put them back with the alpha tool but you would have to have a complete configuration beforehand so you could go back and figure out what it actually changed. It also changed our vehicle brand when we switched over to the single zone automatic temperature control mod and we could not put it back because the AE tool does not even show Ram in the list is available vehicle brands. It's really strange. Since I have the alpha tool I don't use the AE tool at all. It's not worth taking the chance anymore.Ahh crapola. Thank you for that heads up. Even though the AE tool removed it, and the option isn’t in AE. Couldn’t you re add it via AlfaOBD?
I’m glad you gave me that warning. See goes to show you. 50$ software + 80$ tool = reliability and trustworthy. AE = 520$ = HEADACHES.

HUGE UPDATE:
2012 Ram IS SUPPORTED. I was able to enable a ton of things and all work perfectly. Here is a list of what I did so far.

Just curious since you both have a 2014 truck,
- what year of truck did the Evic come from?
- did you test it/have it work before the mileage corrections?
We saw something similar with *some* text info from the 2018 UAx Radios when installed in 13-14, maybe 15 trucks (but not later) that we attributed to the earlier EVICs not being able to fully decide what to do. That being said the turn by turn still worked for most streets.
** Your info may also be worth posting in the Evic cluster upgrade thread to see if anyone else has run into this.
M² Mods.
There is an option in the cluster settings to reset the cluster. Did you happen to try that? Not sure if it will help or not.

If you have the dealer add the RA4 code I don't think it will help but you can try. We have had many RA1 and RA2 trucks upgrade to the RA4 with no issues with the turn by turn so I doubt it's a BCM radio code issue.
I'm not sure where it is with the alpha OBD tool. I had mine turned on by my buddy who works at a Dodge dealership when I first installed my radio a few years ago. My truck came with the RA2 and I didn't notice any changes at all after the I enabled the RA4 code. I know the RA1 trucks had alot if the settings in the EVIC instead of the radio screen and people who changed to the RA2,RA3 and RA4 codes after the upgrade the settings move from the EVIC to the actual radio. As far as I know that's the only difference anyone has noticed after they changed the code.Rick,
What is the RA4 Radio code under? I'll be installing an RA4 shortly and I haven't seen anything in the BCM that specified a radio type. Just a Radio Present and a Radio Apps Present.

I am still away from my truck and my tablet is in the truck. In am going to take a look tomorrow after I get back.Do you have a copy of your BCM log from AlphaOBD handy? Since I also have a 2014 with a stock RA2 and mine hasn't had that option set, perhaps we can find it by doing a comparison.

I’ll try to connect to my instrument panel and see what i have.I’ll tell you what guys. Alexey is one hell of a guy.
So you all know my truck is a little older than the rest of you. I bought it 2 years ago and I’m on a fixed income due to disabled.
Anyways I couldn’t connect to my instrument panel without bringing down 125k lines. He apparently discovered a bug. He was given info that it should be 500k. So he fixed it to 125k and I do not have to bring down 125k from my side access panel.
This guy is amazing and extremely helpful!
