I can find the list of LED settings, but I do I get to the HID settings for a 2016?
It's under Vehicle Config 3:
High Intensity Discharge Head Lamps

Has anyone tried the hid in the headlight option?

Check this thread out. Someone tested the different settings and is saying to disable LED low beam in the CBC and enable HID as it turns off the PWM!!
https://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/2013-general-discussion/2486949-adjusting-light-alphaobd.html

I just reconfigured my headlights as described in the above link. Under "Vehicle Config 3-High Intensity Discharge Head Lamps" I changed it to "Yes". I then went back and reset the LED Low and High Beam bulbs back to "NO" under CBC features; there seems to be no negative effect after setting the lights as HID, as I have no bulb-out errors despite running LEDs in both the Low and High beams. After a half-hour test (sitting in front of my house with the engine both off and at idle, then driving a few miles to grab a coffee), I noticed NONE of the slight pulsing/flickering I WAS getting.

Seems like, at least for the Quads, the key to not needing PWM modules and Canbus Adapter things is to set your lights to HID present. Time will tell, especially to the longevity of the bulbs, but for now, it seems to work.

The setting is HERE:

Tilt in reverse...ahh I am so glad my mirrors are capable. Just messed with it today while resetting some codes, and wouldn't ya know it? My mirrors are the right ones. Bighorn, Harvest edition. Chrome ftw!

I've been reading this thread all night trying to catch up to speed. This seems like a fantastic tool for our trucks and you all have been doing an amazing job of figuring things out!

Do I need to get this 4 digit code from the dealer to get started or is it only if I want to reprogram a key? I notice on one of the initial screens it states you need a generic code "usually 0000 or 1234". Is this actually where you need the dealer code?

You need the code to program a fob or to change your tire pressure thresholds.

Ok, good. I'm not worried about those two things at the moment so not having to fight with the dealer is a good thing. Thank you

I haven't messed with alfaOBD in a while, but recently put all the options on my Tradesman back to stock before I traded it in. Got my new Bighorn and used alfa to disable fog light dropout and successfully changed the tire pressure thresholds to 60 psi. Also changed the thresholds on my friend's 2017 2500 Limited. To me this is the best feature so far. Thanks to whoever figured it out! And I'm glad to see this thread is still alive and growing.

Why did you revert any of the changes you'd made to your previous truck to stock? Granted, on a tradesman it couldn't have been too many or too difficult to do... but were you afraid there would be repercussions on the trade if you didnt?

You can add pretty much any option to a tradesman as you can to any other Ram. All the same codes are available in the BCM, you just need to add wiring in some cases which we have figured out. Most people put them back to stock if they haven't done to many mods. Most dealers frown on any modifications on trades plus if it ever got reflashed by a dealer all of the added codes would be erased anyway and they would have no idea how to put them back.

I am not sure if I should put this in a new thread or not, So by this post both HID, and LED can be used. What is the preferred bulb by members?

What seems to give a better light?(not sure if that's the right wording)

I've read a few times that if you have the quads, the best bulb retrofit will be led. Projectors your best bet is hid.

Interesting point on this one. If you get the CD addon from Infotainment, they do not give you a Genie to update the BCM like they do with most of their kits. The CD kit has a little "mystery box" on the harness instead.

https://www.infotainment.com/collections/all/products/chrysler-group-remote-add-on-cd-player

I wonder if the CD setting is one of the ones in the radio itself that can't be accessed via the OBD system due to the security barriers in the radio that are meant to keep the vehicle from being hacked over the cell system?

-K
Interesting ...not sure it's the radios security because my truck came with the CD player and the RA1 no frills non touchscreen radio and I've upgraded to the RA2 , RA4CA & two different RA4NÀ's and the CD player has worked with all ??

Sorry if this has been said already as I'm reading through some older post ...

I wasn't worried about repercussions per se. But one of the things I had enabled was
the compass, and a lot of the time it only displayed "-- " on the EVIC instead of the direction. Figured it best to disable it, then thought I might as well put everything else back while I was in there

Has anybody tried mapping a drive when they’re connected to their truck? Possibly to upload background images to their displays?

I’m not sure if it’s possible...it just came to mind when I was in the shower. Lol. I think I spend too much time reading this thread.

Did you ever post your starting BCM dump? I had asked someone who had the CD from factory with the same year truck as mine to do so so I could compare the BCM dumps and look for what might be the setting for the CD player. I don't think it ever happened though. Was that you I had asked?

Wasn't me .

I don't have the capabilities of doing a BCM dump.
