So I bought a crew cab 6.4 and it has about 3k miles. Just made a trip up to grab a boat and trailer it back so have a glimpse of MPG for both trips

Travel was from VA to MD/DE line so that includes DC beltway and Baltimore. Not the best drive

Travel from VA north full tank of fuel 89 octane traveled 101 miles. 15.9 MPG. Some stop and go and mainly 70-75 mph. Dash trip showed I averaged 60mph. 1 hour 41 mins

Travel back with a boat/trailer (9000lbs) full tank of 89. Traveled 138 miles. 8 mpg. A lot of traffic and highway speeds of 60-70. Dash showed i averaged 42mph. 3 hours 14 mins.

I have done this trip with my older 16 Hemi 1500 with 3.21. Night and day difference in towing of course. I also DD this 2500 and dont mind higher rpms when towing on the highway compared to a diesel.

Is that hand calculated or what the gauge says?

My 2018 ram 2500 6.4 L is averaging about 12.5 miles per gallon in town, hand calculated and I took my first road trip with about 20 miles off the highway and I got 16.7 miles per gallon, hand calculated.

Mine with a 4.10 at 5k miles is 13-16 highway. And 8-13 towing . Mpg is all over the place. This is by the computer.

Yeah, some truck's came with notoriously bad MPG measurement abilities. I stopped using the computer and started hand calculating on my 2014 6.4L truck.

Our evic mpg readouts are simply 'feel good' gauges. Mine also is off between 1-2 mpg over hand calculated numbers.

Mine *seems* to be fairly accurate.
So far. I think I'm actually getting Better mpg's with the 6.4/4.10 over my '02 with 4.7/3.55.

When driving the 6.4 you have to resign yourself to, you get what you get for mileage. I was Happy to get 12-13 City and 14-15 Hwy. I was on Thuren 2" coils and 295-60-20 Nitto G2's. Sure rode Nice though.

This is exactly what I have found in my 2018 Ram 2500 6.4L CC

I'm getting about 8.5 mpg when towing an 8000lb camper

Update mpg on my 2018 Ram 2500 6.4 hemi with 8500 miles. As the warmer weather has settled in here in the Rocky Mount North Carolina area the last several fill ups I have been averaging 12.9 -13.2 miles per gallon around town, Hand calculated. On the highway, hand calculated, I am averaging in the 17 to 18 mile per gallon range with a few upper 16’s, That’s traveling at 68 mph.

MPG posts only count if they are calculated as almost all readouts are at least 1 mpg high on this blog and my average is 1 high. As far as mpg goes the 6.4 is really good for a big gasser both towing and not compared to older gassers and it might not be as good as my old 5.9 Cummins but a diesel has a lot of baggage the gassers don't.

Exactly. 5 Chrysler products and everyone one of them evic was off by 1-2 mpg over calculation. The evic is just a feel good gauge. You can usually tell those who depend on the evic for their mileage. They are reported in tenths. My actual mileage last time calculated was 16.96 mpg highway. Feel good gauge read 18+.

Right on and at least the display is consistent for estimating when you will run out of gas.

I've checked my display mpg and it's usually the same hand calc. Or, hand calc actually shows better.

Rear end gears must make a difference in MPG. So any post without leaves questions.

Also driving style and tire size.

My ‘18 is bone stock with 4:10.

Only 1100 miles. Lie o meter.

Says 10.8 city. I drive harder than most but not crazy.

Highway i eked out 15 only the lie o meter. Driving like an old man and rarely going over 70mph.

I’m scared to hand calc and see how bad it really is lol.

2500 6.4L Hemi 4.10's 'Off-Road'
Just bought my 2018 2500 last week. 6.4L with 4.10's all stock. Dealer filled it so assuming they topped it up completely then I got 11.8 MPG on my first tank with about 75% in town driving. I put just over 200 miles on it (8150 miles on it now). I drive pretty conservatively too so that helps. I will be towing my 9500lb boat this Friday so next tank won't be a real accurate reading either. Any the 11.8 MPG was hand calculated
