@Hemi395 I wonder if we gave toyota WS a bad rap. I'm not saying it is anything to brag about, it is reported to be a generic blended product, but now on my third flush of d6 and it looks red on the rag, the fluid is also black. So either the WS dye is so bad that it pollutes d6 even when it is diluted down to minuscule amount, or maybe something else is at play like black clutch packs? I see the oem clutches are black, if you think about it that is a genius move, get people to change their fluid early because it is black, but the fluid is in perfect shape, lol. You could not tell the difference in smell from the new fluid today and the fluid I took out, zero difference. The cup was what I took out, the napkin was testing the new fluid from the stick, which was dark before changing.

Been only one year from last flush.

I'm glad nobody around here has the wife's facebook page, they might tell her what I'm doing with her favorite salad bowl.

Yeah it must be the black clutch material. Most Toyotas darken the fluid like that really quickly. I had always just assumed the Toyota WS was simply junk but maybe its just the nature of Toyota transmissions....

Off topic but I figured I'd post it here for you guys. My truck being 7 years old and black has a couple spots on the roof where the paint is checking. The rest of the truck looks perfect so I'm just assuming its something with the paint on the roof. Anyway I got some of this rattle can clear coat and am going to fix the checking spots and clear the entire roof with this 2 part rattle can clear.

Hemi395, It’s great stuff. I’ve used it a lot in past. Make sure your prep work is correct or you’ll be wasting your money. You can find several good YouTube videos on spraying and prep work. Make sure you don’t touch it for a week, no buffing or sanding. It needs this time to fully cure unless you bake it, but if you have a baking bay you probably wouldn’t be using rattle cans. Lol

Depending on how bad it is you can also use CCR with good effect and less effort. Using an aggressive cut pad on a long throw or a rotatory you just compound it a bit to smooth it out and rough it up for adhesion, panel prep it, and then apply this stuff like you would a ceramic coating just thicker layers.

I would ceramic coat it after it's fully cured for UV protection since the clear has already taken a beating, but I wouldn't spend a ton of money on a higher end coating for just the roof unless you were going to correct and coat the whole truck.

Its a pretty neat product that still requires some good prep work, but not nearly as much as respraying the clear if its salvageable lol. Apex did a good review last year and while not a miracle worker still a rather impressive product.

If I wanted to fix all my rock chips I'd team it up with some dr color chips on the ram, but I'd need a better garage situation before tackling that sort of job =/.

Also since you've got a black truck TW does have the new Hybrid Solutions 53448 Polish/53447 Sealant for black vehicles with some extra dyed acrylic fillers that's been getting really good reviews. My daily driver stash has all been replaced with the TW Hybrid stuff so I save all my higher end products for the garage queen. The durability thus far has been awesome for the price point and the end finish is more than good enough for a daily driver.

I’ve also used this product and it is great for small scratches and scuffs that normal sand and buff won’t take care of. If they are deeper than General sand and buff then it helps to level and hide. If it is clear coat failure it will not work and only create more work to fix.

It's not just the clear, it's the paint right down to the metal. Very strange, I've never had paint do this before. Clear coat peel yes but not all the way down to the metal....f66ac815d9287a24380a42e9577a520e.jpg

That’s from a small chip, scratch or pin hole in the paint. You must live in a salty environment. Driving on salty roads or living close to the ocean causes this. If you stripped the paint and conducted a chloride test on the metal I guarantee you would have high levels.

Think maybe something fell on the roof and created a micro crack?I had another spot do exactly that but it was a few little cracks all in the same small area.it was perfectly in the center of the roof. I just sanded the rust off, added some rust converter, and used touch up paint. It didn't last.

Yup I live on the coast of New England. Salt air year round and road salt in the winter[emoji35]063ff79efdd8e5703f0ee7b984c5d8c7.jpg

Also have my six Purolator filters and six bottles of Lubegard off to the side somewhere on that shelf. I bought all the QSUD wally world had online few weeks back. Using it in the wife's car now too. Makes life a lot easier as far as oil changes.
