I have a Maxtrac 2.5 inch lift coilovers with fox shocks in the front and was wondering if there is more I can do to make the ride more comforting. I have 33x12.50 tires on.

I’ve read getting upgraded control arms for the front isn’t a bad idea but haven’t done that bc I wasn’t sure. Also have stock rear suspension and was curious what kind of upgrades you guys have for the rear.

Give us more details. Is it a 1500-2500 2wd or 4x4. There is a lot you can do with suspension so let’s start by asking how are you going to use your truck?
Towing, offroad (high speed or crawling) daily driver you want it to handle and ride smooth? Otherwise we are just guessing and giving you ideas that may not even work on your configuration

Not a lot more to do in the front since you already have Maxtrac with Fox shocks.
Are you still on stock shocks in the rear? If so get the matching set of rear Fox shocks to compliment the front. Shocks is what will make the biggest difference on how the truck rides and feel. Not a lot of options for you guys asides from Fox 2.0 or CST 2.0 smoothies.

Could UCAs fix something in the ride ? Possibly if your BJ isn't moving as free as it should when the shocks cycle up and down. If your front was stock the factory UCAs will work perfectly fine but when your lifted it 2.5 now your BJ doesn't move the same as it did stock, plus the Fox shocks are a tad longer. You'll be benefit from aftermarket UCAs with BJs that allow your suspension to cycle properly.

A set of JBA UCAs come to my mind. They will be good performers at a decent price. You can also get a set of Icons or Total Chaos UCAs. They can give you both looks and performance but they'll cost a little more.

Dump the 20's and get a set of 17-18" wheels with 35's C or D rated. More sidewall to cushion the shocks a tiny bit more. Every little thing helps :)

Sorry! It’s a 2 wheel drive 1500. Daily driven and just road driven probably 90% of the time but any off-roading would be slow crusing off-roading no crazy bombing through the desert type of stuff.

Thanks! I look into those control arms and maybe some matching Foxs for the back. I also currently have 33 inch Toyo RT with 17 in methods but maybe one day I’ll get some 35s

Definitely want to get Matching Fox rear shocks. Softer rear springs, Hellwig swaybar would be where I would start

Please allow me to grab-onto this thread. I have a totally-stock 2014 Ram 1500 Tradesman, 2WD, 5.7L Hemi, 6-speed automatic with 110K miles on the odometer. A typical use for this vehicle is to drive 300 miles to Northern New Mexico or Utah, then spend the weekend driving dirt roads, looking at Indian ruins and scenic points. I've knocked the thing out of alignment four or five times and am lucky to go 25K miles on a set of tires.
What should I do to make this thing more dirt-road-worthy? What are the basic steps to strengthen the suspension? What sort of tires should I install? I am willing to spend, let's say, up to $5K, as I suspect this truck still has a lot of life in it.
This is not my primary vehicle, it is not my "nice" truck or the one I drive to work or whatever. It's purpose in life is to take me to remote areas, down fairly decent dirt roads, but roads which may still have miles of washboard, or six or eight-inch ruts after a rain. I also like to do 20 or 25MPH. I don't have traction problems, never go off-road, and am just tired of scraping the front-airdam and wearing-out tires. I just want to have confidence that the vehicle can do 300 highway miles home after driving a couple of hundred miles of dirt roads over the weekend.
I have installed front tow-hooks and I do carry tow-straps in case I need a pull out of a ditch, but have never needed them to pull myself out (I have pulled-out tourists a couple of times). I'm seriously considering hauling a second or third spare tire. I'd also like ideas on the best jack to carry (I'd like something better than the stock jack but don't care to carry some monster device,, if not necessary).

Save for a 2wd long travel setup from Dirt King or Gunnar Offroad Racing which will cost you more than $5k your options are limited to Maxtrac or CST and you only get 2.0 shocks with those. Our trucks are a little heavy for anything performance with 2.0 shocks, but that's better than nothing or spacers or conventional aftermarket shocks. Also if you have 20" wheels remove them and get a set of 17 or 18" wheels tops. The more sidewall the better for the dirt. We can fit 17" wheels so there is a lot of options in all weigths and looks. You could have King or Fox or Radflo to make you an aftermarket 2.5 smoothie shock set for the front with the same length as the Fox 2.0 0-2" lift (16.050 extended , 10.95 compressed) Any of the 2.5 rear shocks will fit your rear. Mate that with Icon UCA's and those $5k can cover 2.5 shocks front and rear, Icon rear springs,Icon UCAs and 17" wheels with tires :)

To add to that unless you cut off the 2wd coil bucket from the frame you'll never get enough suspension travel like the 4x4 trucks with a true coilover.
