Not a whole lot of benefit to one on a truck with axle disconnect.

For $2,000 not sure it is worth it? Stronger...sure. Maybe slightly better mileage....sure. Longer wheel bearing life....probably, if you actually service the new wheel bearings. The thing is I just don't hear much about people breaking the stock fronts.
In regards to fuel mileage and wear there is a big difference between locking hubs and the disconnect. With the locking hubs you are not spinning nearly as much in the front as everything is disconnected right at the wheel. With the disconnect you are still spinning the axleshafts and the diff.

imo the only freespins worth considering is dynatrac with dynaloc hubs. $2500. you get a new stub shaft that plugs into the factory inner shafts. but you still have the disconnect.
rcv shafts are another $2500 but theyre meant to go into the factory unit bearing setup. gets rid of the disconnect but youll still have the unit bearing.

the factory disconnect system only turns the shafts and spiders, not the ring and pinion.
op doesnt have enough tire or power to break anything. go enjoy the truck and quit trying to fix problems that arent there

As 62Blazer pointed out, the only real benefit on a stock, or even mostly stock, Power Wagon would be the improved fuel mileage from not turning so many parts when not in 4WD. But in the end, that fuel savings of maybe 1-2 mpg is going to take a LONG time to make up.

2mpg i think would be very optimistic. 1mpg seems more realistic. again for everybody that doesnt understand (which seems to be alot of people), only the shafts and spiders turn. the old system had to churn the ring and pinion through the gear oil and turn the driveshaft (and resistance from three ujoints) and turn the tcase chain.
ya installing freespins on these 14+ trucks for better fuel mileage reasons makes no sense at all.

if you had 42" tires and 700hp and was a kamikazi driver with no fear then sure i could see using chromoly shafts and dynatrac spindles. your front end internals are the same as the cummins. its 600lb heavier and double the torq. you probly havent even made your front end break a sweat

Zero benefit imo. I wheel my truck harder than most and the oem setup is fine.
ya i seen your photos and figure if you dont break stuff then the rest of us have nothing at all to worry about.
some people are skeptical of the disconnect collar but ive only heard one time of that breaking and it was on a cummins because the guy was getting completely stupid and had the truck hopping.

I had installed the Dynatrac kit on my 16 2500. No improvement on Fuel economy. Should have saved my money.

Yeah. The Cummins will break the collar for sure. But hemi. Just not bad at all unless you’re flogging it.
