Tonneau keeps coming open...

I have the Mopar roll up tonneau cover and today it was open when I got home after driving a couple hours. I know for a fact it was closed when I left Bass Pro... This is the second time it was opened on its own this past week.

I am not certain, but should both sides have a latch? (Pictures attached)

Could it be that the warmer weather has loosened it up, and the vibration is causing it to un-latch, and it just needs to be tightened?

I had that cover on my gmc with the same latch.. I hated it. The cover was so tight and that little plastic lip couldn’t hold onto the metal in the cover to keep it closed. Mine was a gmc factory roll up. Same exact latch. It only had the one on the left and it wasn’t nearly enough so I actually bought the one for the right on eBay for cheap and it helped. My ram has the truxedo truxport and it has actual heavy duty metal latches and closed easy with one hand.

The funny thing is, it has never happened until last week. That is what makes me think the warm weather has loosened it up and it just needs to be tightened.

Spray some lubricant on the spring and where the latch slides. Then tighten it some. If it works, great; if not, try something else or get a new one lol

Mine just started doing this all summer, same tonneau cover n latch. Any time I drive over 110kms it unlatches. It’s beyond frustrating!!! Did you ever find a solution as I’m looking for one myself??

I got rid of the truck and bought a ram So it held for the short time I added the second latch. I love the truxport truxedo and I’ll always go with truxport for any future trucks I get

The cover actually just broke at the latch during a bad storm. I picked up a used toolbox and will be going with a cover that goes with a toolbox.
