2010 1500 Laramie. I get a loud clicking just after start-up. 7 or 8 loud clicks from the display area, followed by a faint electric motor sound. Then the sequence repeats 2 or 3 more times.
Has this happened to anybody else? Any ideas?
Thanks

I work on a fleet of ram promaster vans and replace a lot of blend door actuators for clicking behind the dash. Not saying the pickups are the same but it is a good place to start. Try leaving the heater on a different setting like defrost or heat when you shut the truck off. See if it changes when you start the truck up on a cold start in the morning

I agree with Rlaf75, sounds HVAC related. Not much else moves in that area. Unless you have a CD player?

YUP, some actuator door either moving, jammed, or trying to move, IMHO...

We do have a cd player, rarely used. We'll try the heater/defrost trick first, then maybe a cd.
Thanks

Took it to the dealer, they recognized the problem right away and had a replacement HVAC actuator in stock. Big surprise!
So you guys were right.
That was in May. Now its doing the same thing only its constant, not intermittent.
Can anybody tell me which fuse or circuit breaker to pull to stop the clapping? I've got a bunch of work to do with the truck before I can drive the 20 miles to the dealer again and it'll drive me nuts.
Thanks!
