Can't adjust headlights high enough.

Hi. I' recently got a 2010 1500 laramie rwd truck. I believe the ride height is stock. The headlight adjusters were shot so I replaced the headlights assemblies and paid to have them aimed by a local shop. Still the upper cutoff line of the low beams is on 25~30 feet in front of the truck, not at all adequate for night time twisty mtn roads.
I should also note I checked the build sheet for the truck and it came with halogen quad headlights which is what I've reinstalled. Carfax reports no wrecks or accidents and I see no evidence of collision repairs.

You mean the cutoff line shows on the road 25-30 feet in front of truck?

Interesting. Setting the truck headlights is usually done at 25'. Cut off is the same height on the wall as the little dot on the headlight lens (which is center of the headlight ) minus 2" .

That is usually required to prevent blinding oncoming drivers. Don't want to be "one of those guys".

That is correct. The cutoff line is on the road. I have also checked ride height and rake, both seem correct.

In addition to the adjuster you access through the the top of the fender, there is also some sort of adjuster on the bottom of the headlight. You need to remove the headlights to access it. Admittedly though, I have no idea of its function.

If your cutoff line is ON the road 25-30 feet out in front of your truck the shop you paid to adjust them did not do a good job. As 04fxdwgi stated your cutoff line should be about an inch lower than that little clear circle imprinted on your headlight lens when you truck is 25 feet from a wall. While they aren’t difficult to adjust I’d personally take it back to the shop that did the work so they can’t claim you broke something.

Sounds like the headlight assemblies are installed incorrectly, there's an adjustable mount on the bottom. Also check that the mounting ball is properly inserted and locked down. Are there any unusual gaps around the headlights?

Many aftermarket housings don't offer the same amount of adjustment as factory. If they're factory, then the small spacer on the bottom bolt could be adjusted some to get the aim higher.
