According to Pennzoil's website they don't make a conventional oil anymore even though they list it under products.
Guess it could be a mistake, not sure.

I just had a 5 quart jug of Pennzoil conventional 10W40 delivered from Walmart.com for my 2000 Jeep Wrangler

Must be something wrong on their website or they are phasing out the conventional.

They all got catalytic crackers now, needed to make Group III base oil.
At some point economies of scale take over sourcing heavy crude to crack instead of Group II vacuum refined residual oils that can't keep up with hot little w*h*i*z motors.

It wont be missed, I'm loving my kirkland 5w30 synthetic for cheaper then most group 2 oils, like 3 bucks per quart bought on reoccurring monthly sale at costco. TBH 100%, I have never seen any oil that stays this clean on the dip stick, it reminds me of old qsud when they were trying to stay light amber and showing it with clean bottles. It does make me want to get a uoa on it to see how the visc holds up. No I'm not saying it is better then every oil out there, just saying I am impressed with the latest specs taking everything out of the oil, I'm not sure in 5w30 you can do better with api shelf oils. If not for what had going on with my hemi, I would be fine with running kirkland plus biotech in my truck.

A lady in a pruis tried to race me today :)

I almost let he go for the fun of it, but there are greater principals at play other then fun here. But I admire both the optimism and the spirit of this lady, you go girl. She did have to live with my earning the lane in front of her though, sorry not sorry.

That thing got an induction motor?!

Not the same ring as Hemi from 20 years ago. Nothing beats an electric motor for locked rotor torque.

Did you guys see this video? Putting too much oil in your pan can cost you on HP/Torque, these guys ran a test where the difference between 5 qts and 9 qts (in an 11 qt sump) cost them 60 hp. But on 5qts they lost half the oil pressure too.

That trick has been around forever,we used to race SB Chebbies with only 4 quarts in the pan.

$hit yes.

If we're dumping oil @ 5k miles OCI anyway, just about any Group III syn with enough detergent will do. I doubt many 5W-30's will shear too much @ 5k miles in grocery getter vehicles.

The great leveler of base oil quality (saturation) was Dexos, I think. Other car makers started insisting on Group III Syn oil also, at that point, to reduce sticky engine part warranty issues on the little turbocharged motors.

So now everybody's Group III with varying levels of additives and quality. Only band aid motors like Hemi need oil fixes.

You don't use RL oil in your truck? assuming the Kirkland 5w30 with lubeguard?

my ram will get 5w30 redline plus 20-820 as long as I own it, from what I seen from SC the only upgrade over this is on paper. Kirkland will be in the wife's car as long as I own it, the rav 4 just isnt that finicky and clearly there is a reason why it is the most sold vehicle on erf. It is a dream to own compared to my hemi.

I would not have guessed a Tesla would be the top selling car in 2023.

I guess people are starting to embrace that being flat out lied to about the vehicles range is OK.

Throwing away your EV after 8 or 9 years (when the battery is done) is acceptable.
