I just got new tires and highway mph went to 22mpg. Almost affordable transport ; )

First Ram 1 ton cummins, summer rural is 17-18. Longer drives 20-22. Average tank for life of pickup on simply auto is 17.19.

Second ram is a 2500 with a 6.4 It's 13-14 on average summer driving lots of turns and stops.

I really don't understand how my 22 Ram 1500 could possibly be getting worse city mpg than my worn out 99 ram high top conversion van with over 200,000 miles??? It makes no sense, Ram has better aerodynamics, newer engine technology, and 8,800 miles. I've always gotten at least the epa estimated highway mpg on anything I've drove besides this truck.
