Do you happen to remember what the issues were? Just fitment issues that there is nothing you can do to fix it, or was it something that can be made to fir with a little work? Also, the issue isn't something that would be made ok since I have a body lift right?
Realistically what would I see...
I recently had to replace a broken exhaust manifold stud that snapped off in the head as many of us have had to do. When I was in there I had to removed the entire manifold anyway and thought I should just go ahead and upgrade to some headers, so I started looking. My thought is that If I have...
As its been said before the rear gap guards are a waste as there isn't anything that needs to be covered and everything looks good. Without them in the front there is a gap that you can see the engine through. With the gap guards in place it gives a much cleaner look and you don't even know that...
Great thread, I was looking for something like this as a reference when I was putting together my wheel and tire package.
I have 17x9 XD801 Crank with 0 offset with 35 x 12.50 Nitto Trail Grapplers
good clearance and dont stick out too far...
I think some of the aftermarket bumpers/grill guards etc also mount to the tow hook locations that hang off the frame for extra support. If that is the case then custom brackets would be needed with a 3" body lift. I've looked into this before as well.
The clearance between control arm and tire is about the same as with the stock setup, just sticks outside the fender a little more....
clearance with the fender on the front is about perfect, shouldnt run into any problems there...
and a couple more just because...
Finally got new wheel and tires.
Truck is an 09 4x4, 3" PA body lift and 2.5 front, 1.5 rear daystar leveling kit.
Wheels are 17x9 0 offset chrome XD801 Crank's
Tires are 35x12.50R17 Nitto Trail Grappler.
First impressions coming from stock 20" chrome clad and stock Goodyear tires...
Very nice truck man. I like the smaller wheel bigger tire look, it looks meaner to me.
Are those the Method 301? I thought about them in the machined finish, but decided I wanted chrome so I'm going with the XD cranks. They seem to be the least gaudy 17" chrome wheels i could find for our...
Your truck looks amazing! I also have a 3 inch body lift, could you take any pictures from the front to see how much of the front suspension, etc is seen. Also, could you take any pics of the custom fab work needed for the bumper with the body lift? Thanks, and again, very nice truck.
Do you think you could get some pictures of the mounting brackets? I assume it bolts on where the tow hooks would mount? I have a body lift and I'm wondering what type of custom brackets I would have to make.
Haha yeah I have heard nothing but good reviews about those tires. I like them, I like the look of the trial grapplers a little better and I do go muddin every now and then and wanted something a little more aggressive.
It shouldnt be a problem, Ive got 2.5 level and 3" body lift.
How close are the inside of the tire to the upper control arms? The AT2 are listed as 12.5 wide on a 10" wide rim, the nittos I'm looking at are listed as 13.2 wide on a 10 inch rim.
Since I am going with a 9" rim instead of 10"...
You would think so, but no that would make too much sense haha....
KMC - Wheels
the 9" part of a wheel measurement is to the inside of the lip where the bead of the tire sits, the backspacing is measured mating surface to the outside lip.
Has anyone run a 9 inch wide, zero offset (5" backspacing) wheel with 12.50 wide tires???
I am thinking about 17x9 XD Crank with Nitto Trail Grappler tires, 35x12.50 And just trying to be sure that they will fit. Looking at this combo, but will purchase other places...
