    New I-6 info...

So much pessimism. Maybe it will turn out to be a flop but so far they seem to be fairing well in the Jeep line (not out long but still, no major issues yet). All I know is, seems like every 10th thread here is about the 100 different types of hemi tick many say is a flawed design. Or warped...

    HD coils

I love the rear coils on my 2500. One of several reasons I choose Ram. I do use Timbren bump stops as I tow a gooseneck living quarters horse trailer that maxes the truck out on payload (with trailer, gear, and passengers). But it rides so much better when unloaded its night and day.

    Should I get a Diesel

From my observations, the newer Hemis seem to have a lower fail rate than before but some of that could be only because they haven't lived as long. It seems like most of them do fine but there is that small percentage that don't survive long for whatever reason. I got a 75k 10 year warranty...

    6.4 Truck engine

As for the limited speed towing uphill, it seemed some of the earlier models would pull power when a certain parameter was reached (such as oil or transmission temp) but I haven't heard of that anymore. Just this year I towed 10k up the ike gauntlet TFL truck uses. I decided to let it ride at...

New to the Ram-ily- I need help (6.4 Hemi - 2022 Power Wagon)

I'm on my second 6.4 HD. The first one had a brief startup tick at times but I figured out it just sometimes needed to prime the system with full pressure. It also had a light and brief piston slap on startup at times when it was cold. Both turned out to be non issues. My 2022 seems to idle...

    I regret buying a RAM

If the number of recalls is worrisome, I'm not sure a better direction to turn. Ford has been awful and even the beloved Toyota has had it's share on the new Tundra. At the end of the day if a tailgate recall and failed attempt at getting it fixed the first time and parts shortages hampers...

Knob dial vs shift on console

A few mentions of this difference, but the manual shift mode with buttons on the steering wheel (with dial shifter) versus buttons on a column or console shifter is very nice. Don't have to move your hand off the wheel or even look down. Thumb slides right to the - or + button. Very cool even...

Knob dial vs shift on console

I've owned many trucks throughout the years and my 22 RAM is the first with a dial. I'm still adjusting to years of muscle memory, but I prefer it. It's so much cleaner for the cabin space. A huge lever sticking out that looks like something from an *** store is just dated and unnecessary...

Royal Purple 20-820 or Best option

I haven't done extensive research like some have, but I am on my 3rd hemi and second 6.4. At least with the 6.4, and this probably won't be a popular answer, the best outcome in reducing/eliminating startup chatter and other common hemi symptoms the stock Mopar filter has been the best for me...

    2018 6.4 Towing

Agreed with others, mine does this sometimes and it's probably fine. I personally don't like it and would rather use a tad more brake than to scream over 5k. To avoid this from happening, turn tow/haul OFF and use manual shift mode. It will only downshift as far as you select it at that point...

    Mufflex DOD250035 VS. Magnaflow 19493

Did you remove the rearmost resonator too or just swap mufflers? That is my fear as well, too much noise. I tow a lot. I am also considering a larger muffler too which would involve more on the install side but maybe the best of both worlds.

    Mufflex DOD250035 VS. Magnaflow 19493

Considering both of these for my 6.4. I have read Mufflex uses a Magnaflow muffler so is there really any difference between these two products? Are they possibly different mufflers even though they are the same brand? The reason I ask is the Mufflex option is about $100 cheaper.

    Amsoil Severe Gear?

From my experience with Severe Gear (multiple trucks, ATVs, and SXS's) it is an outstanding product. I suppose it could have been a bad batch but I wonder if there was an issue with the gear install fit that caused extremely high heat? I don't know, just throwing ideas out there. Something...

    Just picked my 2022 6.4

UPDATE: The cargo camera was fixed by an OTA update just over a week after delivery.

Cargo Cam Blue Screen - System not Available

Just a follow up to this thread. Even though I have been checking for an update and the system said there wasn't one, just today driving to work an update came through and the cargo camera is working now. Oddly the tire monitoring system now isn't working (no tire pressure readings and the...

Cargo Cam Blue Screen - System not Available

Mine appears to have a single cargo camera in the 3rd brake light. That one blue screens and says "system not available." The traditional backup camera works and those are the only two mine has.

Cargo Cam Blue Screen - System not Available

You wouldn't be willing to check your software build number would you? Mine is FCA-MY22.S21D.5-PROD and the cargo cam still blue screens and says isn't available. Uconnect says it's up to date.

Cargo Cam Blue Screen - System not Available

I know there is a case number for this (S2208000003) but does anyone have more information about a fix and/or timeline? Took delivery on a 2022 that just rolled off the assembly line and it gets a blue screen when trying to access the cargo cam and says the system isn't available. Regular...

    Just picked my 2022 6.4

Here it is, I love it! In response to the question about 3:73 vs 4:10. With the 6 speed it was imperative IMO. With this 8 speed, I would have no issue with the 3:73. I think it may actually be a better combo between fuel mileage and towing ease. Hope to get this cargo cam issue worked out...

    Just picked my 2022 6.4

I just picked up my 2022 6.4 2500. Previous truck was the same only a 2018. First observations. The 8 speed transmission is light years different/better. Both trucks had 4:10s, but this one (even in 8th compared to 6th on the previous one) feels significantly lower in the gear ratio which is...

    Hemi performance...?

I'm a Ram guy at heart. But the 5.7 has lived past it's time. I've owned a 5.7 and have driven the 3.5TT engines. Yes there is added complexity but the 5.7 isn't short of it's own issues that still somehow plague it to this day. The turbo V6 engines are better in almost every other way...

    2022 Ram 2500 Loose Steering?

There is a decent difference between the steering feel of an independent (1500) vs. straight axle (2500+). All straight axle vehicles tend to wonder a bit more and have less of a defined center/neutral feel. Having said that, loose is a different problem. The tires should have an incremental...

    Run fast !

It seems to me this is more about extended warranties. Had the vehicle been under warranty, the ABS pump, radio, and DEF light would be covered. This is why I pay for the longer warranties with todays vehicles. They are all very complex vehicles from an electronic and mechanical perspective...

    Latest on Ordering an HD

I've read some previous posts about a dealer in Louisiana that was pricing at or below invoice. Not sure if that is still the case. Heard about another years ago that was super competitive too but cannot remember where that was. Any other dealers in the middle part of the country that are...

    6.4 hemi lifter issues

2018 6.4 here with 34,000 miles. Best combo I have found through testing is PUP 0w40 with the standard black Mopar filter. Changing oil every 5k. Really been happy with mine except for one time being well over 10k feet on a massive grade with over 10k in tow. She felt pretty flat there...
