Yesterday I noticed when cold starting my ram the check gauge light came on and I saw that my battery gauge was directly on the bottom red line, not completely bottomed out, I though nothing of it because I have had issues with gauges not working when the truck was cold. Later that day I was driving at around 60mph when I noticed my abs and airbag light lit up and dinged at me for a few seconds then went back to normal, drove another 30 miles with combined city and highway driving it was just fine. Today when I was driving down a busy school street where pickups were going on the truck just died it the middle of the road, Tried starting it but all I got was a loud clicking noise. I was able to get it moved out of the way and called a friend to jump me. It started just fine but after driving for maybe 30 seconds my ABS and airbag lights lit up again and engine power was reduced significantly, I pulled over and cut the engine, I let it sit for a few minutes and tried starting again, same clicking, battery gauge, and red security light no abs and airbag lights. I stupidly had the truck towed to a local mechanic shop that is closed till Monday. I don't think this is the battery because I had just replaced it with a nice one 3 years ago/20k miles ago. Could it be an alternator or a serpentine belt? Any additional thoughts?

typical life on a battery is about 3 years and if the problem is actually the alternator it has most likely destroyed the battery by now. Get the battery charged, have it load tested - react accordingly. Have the alternator tested - react accordingly.
