Truck turned 105K so decided to replace:

1. Exhaust manifold bolts/studs and exhaust manifold
2. Spark plugs
3. Belt tensioner
4. Belt
5. Mopar combustion cleaner

The plugs didn’t look as bad as I thought (little crusty) but no electrode wear. They were the NGK iridium. Bolts/studs were another story (see pics). You can see where the exhaust leak was on the manifold. The belt was crusty; felt dry but no cracks. Tensioner felt decent; no noise and little play. The truck runs great; looking forward to the next 100K miles. The head tech asked how often I changed my oil and I told him 5K; he said good. He said NOT to follow the oil life monitor. He drives a 2003 1500 with 300K miles; he changes his oil every 4K.

What engine and year of your truck? I’m looking to probably do my exhaust manifold bolts soon. I have the 6.4

Buckeye,

I drive a 2016 2500 5.7 Hemi. The tech was telling me the passenger side is a pain in the a%# due to the height of our frame. Don’t know if it’s different for the 6.4. He told me he had to lift the engine a bit to access the studs/bolts. Buy an aftermarket kit. The OEM did not look good.
