How hard if even possible to swap an 11 steering wheel with a 12+ wheel so the cruise is on the wheel not a little apparatus on the lower right side? I used the search but found nothing. Any ideas?

I can tell you that I know for sure that the 2012 will swap with 2013+, but I am not sure about previous years. Last I heard the shafts were different, but I have not been able to prove that...

I did it on my '11 when I had it. Everything plugged right up and the shafts are the same. Problem was nothing electronic worked except the horn. Now i upgraded to a when with radio controls and it may have needed to be flashed. The things is the cruise control buttons didn't respond either. Gave up and ended up trading the truck anyway and few months later.

Did a similar thing to a X-GF's eddie Bauer explorer years and years ago, I never could get the cruise to work, it would engage but never go up down.... figured the switch circuitry was different than the wire plugs even though they fit two different switches.

I know its possible if already equipped with all that, its just a different type of switch. just have to see how the circuits function and redo the wire harnesses to the proper position on the switch. is more research and planning than actual physical work. but I'd be interested in doing the same myself I hate that damn thing where you cant get to it to set cruise.

A few years back someone changed from a 2011 to 2012 wheel, don't remember which forum it was on though. Everything seemed to work, He did have to take it in to an FCA dealer to update most of the codes for everything to work that he didn't have before.

Almost positive he had the cruise working also.

Years ago someone had posted all the sales code available, wish I had retained a copy.
