13in wide tires with 8in wide wheels

I have a set of 37x13r16 boggers and was just wondering if I could get away with a 16x8 wheel?

Even though actual specs on that size tire say the tread width is only 12.2" wide...

I would not, the rule I have always followed is 3" over the rim width thats all. Interco's site say 10" so I would think 10". I am sure many have done it so up to you, the tire will be crowned more and the tread in the center will wear much faster than the rest of the tire.

It would look like a staypuff marshmallow, and be prone to breaking the bead.
But yes, you could mount them and cruise the mall pretty hard with em.
