I decided to plasti dip my wheels on my 2014 express. I looked up the torque specs for the lug nuts and found it to be 135. The front wheels went back on without a hitch. When trying to put the back wheels on it seemed like every lug nut would not torque that much. I am pretty sure I messed up a couple lug nuts and maybe even a couple of the studs. Has anyone else ran into this. I never could get my torque wrench to click. It would just keep turning so I quit so I would not do more damage. What do you guys think. Here is a pic of the wheels.

Maybe they are just made out of some real cheap metal. It seems like this would be a common issue if so. The weird thing is how the fronts torqued to 135 no problem.

Last I checked we always do 100. Even on mine it came factory set to 100.

I could be mistaken.

Very interesting. I have not heard of this issue yet.

Contact the dealer and see what they say. I don't see why they would not warranty the lugs or studs.

Well the good news is my studs were not damaged. I took one of the back wheels off and took a good lug nut and it went on smooth on all of the studs. The lug nuts were stripped a little so I contacted the dealer and fortunately my good friend is the service manager so I was able to get the 7 lug nuts I needed for free. All is good again. He also told me to just do 110 with the torque wrench and he did say the manual they use calls for 135 but that is overkill he said. By the way those lug nuts are $9 each at the dealer ouch.

I was going to say stripped or cross threaded. 135 is the correct torque. 2005 was the last year to take 100 ft lbs.
