Found a set if factory steps on craigslist, but I think they came off of a half ton crew. There is a little difference between the measurements of the mounts of my oval steps and these square tube ones, but I am pretty sure that they will bolt up. My concerns is would a set of wheel to wheel steps from a 1500 crew look terribly ridiculous on a long bed 2500?

Only reason I am considering swapping my current steps is because I need a step up to get into my toolbox since putting a stock bed back on. Anyone ever done this type of install?

I removed my step bars off my 2015 1500 and installed them on my 2018 2500. The mounting holes lined up perfectly.

If the side steps a set off a 1500 w/ 6.4' bed, it will look like they're just for the toolbox as they have a separate step pad about a foot long behind the ones for the cab. They'll bolt up no problem as they mount the same as the truck with the 8' bed, there is no mounts behind the cab for the 6.4' or 8' wheel to wheel side steps.
This is a pic of mine (6.4' factory wheel to wheel)IMG_20161115_131455406-01.jpg

Pretty sure these steps are for the 5’ bed. They’re only 97” long total. Not sure if they’ll look funny or not.

Well if they just go the length of cab....and your running a flat bed they’d look good.

For size reference, mine are 107" long. To see how far back they go, the end of the side steps is 25" from the lower corner of the back door. The rear step pad is actually 15" long.

Crew Cabs w/6.4' beds are sort of rare in the 1500 trucks but if I remember correctly the 2500/3500 of the same configuration all use the same wheel to wheel side steps.

I don't think it would look goofy at all. And who should care but you?
