'16 2500 headlights?

First post guys. I have a 2016 Ram 2500 Laramie. I believe it is equipped with HID headlights, due to the sticker on the door jam. However, the light is a little warm for my taste, possibly 4500k. Can I simply install new 5500k bulbs?

They are not hids. I'm not sure why they even put that sticker on these trucks. I'd recommend going to retroshop.us he is a sponsor on here. He'll set you up with what you need.

As stated above, you don't have HID's. They're just regular halogen bulbs in the projector housings. Give Jeremy at RetroShop a shout and he'll get you setup with a full HID kit and everything you need to make it work on your truck.

I really wanted to put HIDs in my 2016 Sport with the projector lights but there seems to be too many components involved to get it to work properly I like to keep things simple I don't want to run wiring harnesses and all that I know that it comes as an option from the factory I think on the limited( at least after the sales guy told me when I asked him if there was a hid in the truck) ... I wonder if the factory hid unit is plug and play or if he requires a different harness or completely different headlights from the factory

There is no ram factory hids at this point. I don't know if a hid setup from jeep or a Chrysler line would work but can imagine it's not going to be cheap

Your sales guy lied unfortunately. Ram hasn't come out with HID's from the factory for any trucks yet.

Talk to Jeremy at RetroShop regarding HID kits for your truck. It should just be a matter of getting the HID kits and canbus adapters which is a fully plug and play system. However I know that there were some headlight build issues with the 2015 trucks, not sure if any of that had to do with the HID's or just the LED boards themselves or if it's passed on to the 2016 trucks. But again, Jeremy will be able to answer all of that for you.

Thank you for your reply. Kind of ****** me off that the truck does not have the equipment that I was told it had. I may "big deal" this with the dealership before I mess with anything. If they don't play nice I will look into Retroshop, as you stated. Additionally I looked into switchback LED boards for the Amber turn indicators. Is there a DRL signal on these trucks? I apologize for my extensive ignorance. I bought the truck and I was too busy to look at it, now I'm out of the country.

How about the fog lights are they simpler or is it the same?

The DRL option is not enabled unless you're in Canada. In order to get them enabled in the US, you have to get a dealer to do it.

As far as the switchback LED boards, Retroshop can take care of that as well as it's not an easy thing to install.
