Hey guys, so my low beams are horrible in my truck. They burn out so fast so I’m replacing them with HID‘s. I had them on my 3rd Gen. I absolutely love them. However I accidentally ordered high beam bulbs, not low beams. I’m wondering if I can take my LED high beam bulbs, put them in my low beam slot in the headlight and replace my highbeams with the HID’s and at a later date order the low beam HID conversion kit I would just like to have low beam driving at night. I should add I know they’re different bulbs the big beam is a 9005 and the low beam is an h11 I believe I’m just wondering if the hug beam bulb would fit in the low beam spot

The bulb mount is completely different and it will not fit the housing in any way. You will need to get the correct H11 bulb. Instead of HID bulbs for the low beam you can use LED bulbs.and they work very well and are really bright. If they are aimed and clocked properly they are very nice.

I have tried the leds they burn up in a few months I’d like to put the led higbeams I have in the low beam right now if it’ll fit and then install the HID high beams in the high beam spot and then order the low beam lights and install those in the low beam spot at a later date at least that was my plan

The base of the bulbs that lock into the headlight housing are completely different between the H11 the 9005 and will not work or interchange.

You should look at a higher quality LED "bulb" for the low beams:

Diode Dynamics have a good rating:

Morimoto and GTR has good LEDs as well:

Others here have used Fahren LEDs from Amazon with good results too. Probably at least a few dozen posts here with positive and negative reviews of LED bulbs used for replacement of the halogen bulbs.

Are you 100% sure you don't have some other issue with your truck? You should not be running through bulbs in this fashion.

^^^ what he said
I'd check if there's an issue with the truck, I've had the same Hikari LEDs in my high beams for at least 5 years now.
You wouldn't want HID in the high beams as they take several minutes to warm up to full brightness and negates using the highs for flash to pass (or signaling other drivers).
